Land temporarily reserved in the Otago Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section
of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, either by general or parti-
cular description, and whether the same has been surveyed
or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that
the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of
the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale
the land in the Otago Land District described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said
Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land
so intended to be temporarily reserved.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by ad-
measurement 37 acres, more or less, being Section No. 14,
Block XIII., Inch-Clutha Survey District. Bounded towards
the north by a road reserve bounding Sections Nos. 10 and
8, Block XIII., Inch-Clutha Survey District; towards the east
by a road reserve bounding Section No. 6 of the said Block
XIII., and by Section No. 5 of the said Block XIII.; towards
the south-east by the said Section No. 5; towards the north-
west by the last-mentioned section; towards the west, again
towards the south-east, and again towards the west by Sec-
tion No. 7 of the aforesaid Block XIII.; and again towards
the north-west by Section No. 9 of the said Block XIII.: as
the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 54299/1, de-
posited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey,
at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
bordered red. For a sanctuary for native game.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-third day of October, one thousand
nine hundred and five.

Removing Restrictions against Alienation of Native Land.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by section fourteen of “The Maori Land
Laws Amendment Act, 1903,” it is enacted that,
notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act, or in
any Crown grant or other instrument of title, the Governor
may, on the recommendation of the Council, remove any
restriction on the alienation of land owned by Maoris:
Provided that the decision of the Governor on any recom-
mendation of the Council shall be given within six months
from the date of the receipt of such recommendation:

And whereas the Aotea District Maori Land Council, by
a recommendation made and passed by the said Council on
the second day of October, one thousand nine hundred
and five, and received on the eighteenth day of October,
one thousand nine hundred and five, has recommended the
Governor to remove and revoke the restrictions contained
in the instrument of title to the block of land known as
Manawatu-Kukutauaki No. 4d No. 1, Subdivision No. 6,
particulars of which land are set out in the Schedule
hereunder written, to enable the said land to be sold:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the powers conferred upon and vested in me by
the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities me
thereunto enabling, and in accordance with the recom-
mendation of the Aotea District Maori Land Council afore-
said, do hereby remove and revoke the restrictions now
existing against the alienation of the block of land known
as Manawatu-Kukutauaki No. 4d No. 1, Subdivision No. 6,
as the same is particularised and set out in the Schedule
hereto.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land, situate in the Wellington
Land District, known as Manawatu-Kukutauaki No. 4d No. 1,
Subdivision No. 6, containing 98 acres 2 roods 29 perches,
more or less, and being the land comprised in partition
order of the Native Land Court dated the 31st day of July,
1889, in favour of Tamara te Angiangi and others, and
containing the following restrictions: “Inalienable, except
by lease for a period not exceeding twenty-one years, unless
with the consent of the Governor.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-third day of October, one thousand
nine hundred and five.

1904”; also to appoint Saturday, the 11th day of November,
1905, to be the date, and the office of the said William
Alfred Carter, in Church Street, at Opotiki, to be the place,
