One hundred and forty acres of this is level, with good sandy soil; gravel subsoil; covered with light scrub, fern, ribbonwood, and mixed bush. The remaining 82 acres is partly flat and partly broken, with black soil, and gravel subsoil; covered with mixed bush, chiefly rimu, birch, and white-pine. Well watered. Accessible by road and river-bed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and five.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve in the Auckland Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to change or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in His Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, the Governor may, by notice gazetted, declare his intention to make such change, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto from that named therein to that named in the second column thereof.


SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve. Intended Purpose.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 55A, Parish of Maramarua. Bounded by a line commencing at a point on the southern side of a public road, the said point being distant 547·8 links measured along a line running in a north-westerly direction and bearing N. 53° 15′ W. from the junction of the said public road with the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 55, Maramarua Parish, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction along a line bearing S. 25° 48′ W., 283·6 links; thence in a north-westerly direction along a line bearing N. 64° 12′ W., 170 links; thence in a north-easterly direction along a line bearing N. 25° 48′ E., 300 links; and thence in a south-easterly direction by the said public road, 171·6 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 51852, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. Reserved for a site for a public hall in New Zealand Gazette No. 48, of the 9th June, 1904. Site for a Mechanics’ institute and athenæum.

Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the fifteenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and five, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.

Land temporarily reserved in the Auckland Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Auckland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land so intended to be temporarily reserved.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 8 acres 2 roods 28 perches, more or less, being Section No. 24, Block XIII., Ohinemuri Survey District. Commencing at peg No. V. (shown on plan hereinafter referred to), situated on the northern boundary-line of Section No. 8, Block XIII., Ohinemuri Survey District, and proceeding thence along a line in a north-westerly direction, bearing N. 75° 6′ W., a distance of 1300 links to peg No. VI. (shown on plan hereinafter referred to) on the old goldfields boundary road; thence along the said road in a north-easterly direction, bearing N. 5° 13′ E., a distance of 59·6 links; thence again in a north-easterly direction along a line, bearing N. 85° 33′ E., a distance of 2404·2 links
