Special Order made by the Manawatu County Council altering Boundaries of Ridings.

THE following special order, made by the Manawatu County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886.”

MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.

THE following is a copy of a special order passed by the Manawatu County Council at a special meeting held on the 12th July, 1905, and confirmed at a special meeting held on the 9th August, 1905 :—

That whereas it has been found that the boundaries of the respective ridings of the County of Manawatu are insufficiently described, and it is expedient to redescribe such boundaries, the Manawatu County Council, in pursuance of section 49 of “The Counties Act, 1886,” hereby resolves as follows—that is to say, the boundaries of the respective ridings of the Manawatu County shall be as follows :—

Sandon Riding.

Beginning at a point on the south-east boundary of the Rangitikei County in the production of the south boundary of Section 99, Block XII., Rangitoto Survey District: bounded towards the north by the said production and by the said south boundary of Section 99 to the west side of a public road; thence by the west side of the said public road to the intersection therewith by the production of the south boundary of Section 144; thence by the said production and the said south boundary of Section 144, Block XII., Rangitoto; thence by the north boundary of Section 101 to its north-east corner on a public road; thence towards the east generally by the said public road, being the eastern boundary of Sections 101, 102, 106, part 110, 108, all of Block XII., Rangitoto, the crossing of a road, of Sections 73 and 75, Block XVI., Rangitoto, to the south-east corner of the said Section 75; thence by the south boundaries of Sections 75, 74, 72, 70, 152, and 68, by the east boundaries of Sections 5 and 6, all of Block XVI., Rangitoto, and of Section 8, Block XV.; thence by part of the northern and the eastern boundaries of the Township of Sanson, by the east boundaries of Sections 15, 16, 17, 44, 43, Block XV. aforesaid, by a public road and the crossing of another public road, and by the east boundaries of Sections 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, Block III., Te Kawau Survey District; thence towards the south by the south boundaries of Sections 12, 178, 179, 180, 181, Block III. aforesaid, the south boundary of Section 188, the crossing of a public road, the south boundary of Section 359 of Block II., Te Kawau, and by the south boundary of Section 360, Block XIV., Rangitoto, and its production to the boundary of the Rangitikei County; thence towards the west by the Rangitikei County to the point of commencement.

Mount Stewart Riding.

Beginning at the north-east corner of Section 101, Block XII., Rangitoto: bounded towards the north by a right line to the north-west corner of Section 111, by the northern boundary of Section 111, Block XII., by the northern boundary of Section 112, the crossing of a road, by the northern boundaries of Sections 118, 119, 124, all of Block IX., Oroua Survey District, by the northern boundaries of Sections 125, 129, and 130 of Block XIV., Oroua Survey District; towards the east by part of the eastern boundary of the said Section 130, by the western and southern boundaries of the Borough of Feilding, and by production of the said southern boundary to intersect the boundary of the Kairanga County; thence towards the east again by the Kairanga County to the north side of the road from Sanson to Palmerston North; thence towards the south by the north side of the said road to the Sandon Riding hereinbefore described; thence towards the west by the Sandon Riding to the point of commencement.

Waitohi Riding.

Commencing at the south-west corner of Section 142, Block XVI., Rangitoto Survey District: bounded towards the north by the Mount Stewart Riding hereinbefore described to the Kairanga County; thence bounded on the east by the said Kairanga County to the intersection with the north boundary of Section 347, Block V., Kairanga Survey District, produced; thence towards the south by the said production and north boundary of Section 347, by the north boundaries of Sections 11, 7, and 6, part of the west boundary of the said Section 6, the north boundaries of Sections 3, 2, and 1, the crossing of a road, the north boundaries of Sections 23, 22, 21, 20, 19, and 18, all of Block VIII., Te Kawau Survey District, by the crossing of a road, and by the north boundaries of Sections 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, the crossing of a road, Sections 4, 3, 2, 1, part of the west boundary of Section 1, and the north boundary of Section 34, all of Block III., Te Kawau Survey District, to the east side of a public road; thence towards the west by the east side of the said public road to the north-west corner of Section 14, Block III.; thence by a right line to the south-east corner of Section 12, Block III.; and thence by the Sandon Riding hereinbefore described to the point of commencement.

Campbell Riding (to be known hereafter as Rongotea Riding).

Beginning at the north-west corner of Section 34, Block III., Te Kawau Survey District: bounded towards the north by the Waitohi Riding hereinbefore described to the boundary of the Kairanga County; thence towards the east by the Kairanga County to the intersection with the south boundary of Section 55, Block VII., Te Kawau Survey District, produced; thence towards the south by the said production of the south boundary of Section 55 aforesaid, and by the said south boundary of Section 55, by a right line across a road to the south-east corner of Section 50, Block VII., Te Kawau, by the north side of a public road to the south-west corner of Section 123, Block VI., Te Kawau; thence towards the west by the east side of a public road to the point of commencement.

Kawakawa Riding.

Commencing at the south-west corner of Section 123, Block VI., Te Kawau Survey District: bounded on the north generally by the Campbell (Rongotea) Riding hereinbefore described to the boundary of the Kairanga County; thence towards the east by the Kairanga County to the north side of the Foxton–Palmerston Railway line; thence towards the south by the said Foxton–Palmerston Railway line to the south-east corner of Section 315, Block XIV., Te Kawau; thence by the south boundary of the said Section 315 to the south-west corner thereof; thence by the crossing of a road, by the south-east corner of Section 312, Block XIII., Te Kawau Survey District; thence towards the west by the west side of a public road to the north-east corner of Section 138, Block VI., Te Kawau; thence by a right line crossing a public road to the point of commencement.

Awahou Riding.

Commencing at the south-east corner of Section 312, Block XIII., Te Kawau Survey District: bounded towards the north by the Kawakawa Riding hereinbefore described to the Kairanga County; thence towards the east generally by the Kairanga County, and again towards the east and towards the south by the Horowhenua County to the sea; thence towards the west by the sea to a point in the production of the south boundary of Section 329, Block I., Mount Robinson Survey District; thence towards the north by the production of the said south boundary of Section 329, by the said south boundary of Section 329, and the south boundary of Section 332 to the south-east corner thereof; thence towards the west by the west side of a public road to the point of commencement: excluding from the area herein described all the area within the Borough of Foxton.

Carnarvon Riding.

Commencing from the south-west corner of the Sandon Riding: bounded towards the north by the Sandon Riding; towards the east by the Waitohi, Campbell (Rongotea), Kawakawa, and Awahou Ridings; towards the south by the Awahou Riding; and towards the west by the sea and by the Rangitikei County to the point of commencement.
