Award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal.

No. 185, Private Robert Murray, Bruce Rifle Volunteers, he having a total service to 28th February, 1905, entitling him thereto of twenty years three hundred and seventeen days.

THE following special order, made by the Waipa County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901." R. J. SEDDON, Colonial Treasurer.
WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," the Waipa County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorised to be raised by the Waipa County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for metalling a portion of the Kihikihi-Te Awamutu Road, the said Waipa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/3d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Rangiaohia Riding of the County of Waipa, comprising all that area in the Provincial District of Auckland as described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 18th May, 1883, page 656; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of August and the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was passed at a meeting of the Waipa County Council held on Tuesday, the 11th July, 1905, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council held on Tuesday, the 8th August, 1905.

THE following special order, made by the Stratford County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901." R. J. SEDDON, Colonial Treasurer.
STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," the Stratford County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £50, being the further advance of 10 per cent. on the original loan of £500, authorised to be raised by the Stratford County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for completing the construction of a portion of the Mangaehu Road as contemplated under the proposal for the original loan raised for that purpose, the Stratford County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/3d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Mangaehu Road No. 4 Special-rating District, comprising Sections 1, 2, and part (western half) of Section 3 of Block II., Omana Survey District, and the north-western 1,500 acres of the Matemateaonga Block; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off, the rate of interest to be 5 per cent. per annum.
The above special order was instituted at a special meeting of the Council held on the 19th day of July, 1905, and confirmed at a meeting held on the 16th day of August, 1905.
