SCHEDULE.
Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Starting at a point in Thomas Johnston’s freehold farm, in Water-race No. 1394, in name of John Fleming, George Redhead, and Martin Heaney, and going through Elizabeth Towan’s freehold, then through Felix McFelin’s freehold, then through Felix McFelin’s and Henry John Towan’s freehold, then through Chun Dun’s leasehold, and then through Charles Cyril Sanders’s leasehold, and joining Water-race No. 1394, and terminating there.
Length and intended course of race: Two miles, north to south.
Points of intake: In Water-race No. 1394.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Six weeks.
Mean depth and breadth: 1 ft. 9 in. deep; 2 ft. wide.
Number of heads to be diverted: To carry two heads.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation and domestic purposes.
Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

PRIVATE ADVERTISEMENTS.
In the matter of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and also of the taking under the said Act by the Gisborne Borough Council of certain land within the Arai Road District for the purpose of establishing waterworks for the Borough of Gisborne.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Gisborne, for and on behalf of the Gisborne Borough Council, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and amendments thereof, intend to take by Proclamation the following land, viz.:—
All that piece or parcel of land, situate in the District of Poverty Bay, containing by admeasurement 321 acres, being part of Section No. 4 of the Maraetaha No. 2 Block of Block IV. of the Nuhaka Survey District, within the Arai Road District, being part of the land comprised in and delineated on plan deposited in the Land Transfer Office, at Gisborne, under No. 1371, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Register-book, Volume 37, folio 195, Poverty Bay Registry.
A plan of the said land is deposited at the store of Mr. Daulton, at Te Arai, in the Poverty Bay District, where the same may be inspected at all reasonable hours. The
