This block comprises that part of the Westport Harbour Endowment bounded on the north-west by the ocean from the Mokihinui River to Kongahu Point; on the north-east and east by the Kongahu Settlement Block, the Mokihinui-Karamea Inland Road. and Podges' Creek; and on the south by the Mokihinui River.
It is situated about twenty-seven miles north-east of Westport; is tapped by the Westport-Seddonville Railway and the Mokihinui-Karamea dray-road, which is formed to View Hill Saddle; and in close proximity to the State coal-mine. which lies between St. Helens and Seddonville Railway-stations on the south side of the Mokihinui River. The Townships of Mokihinui and Seddonville are on the southern boundary of the block.
The quality of the land--which is more or less broken--varies from fair to good, on granite. sandstone, papa, and limestone formation. There are good flats along the rivers, and the highest altitude attained on the block is 1,777 ft. above sea level.
The land is well watered by the Three-mile Creek, the Six-mile Creek, and the Stillwater Creek, and the numerous tributaries of these creeks, and is heavily timbered on the whole with birch, rimu, rata, and kahikatea, with dense undergrowth of the usual scrubs. The altitude of the country is from sea-level to 1,777 ft.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of "The Land Act. 1892." it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time. either by general or particular description. and whether the same has been surveyed or not. reserve from sale temporarily. notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license. any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee. Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Taranaki Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District. containing towards the south by Section No. 18 of the said Block II.; admeasurement 35 perches, more or less. being Section and towards the west by the Whangamomona Road. For No. 17. Block II.. Whangamomona Township. Bounded public buildings.
towards the north by Section No. 16. Block II.. Whangamomona Township; towards the east by a public road;
All that area in the Taranaki Land District. containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 44, Block III.. Whangamomona Township. Bounded towards the north by Crown land. a distance of 250 links; thence towards the east by the Whangamomona Road, a distance of 100 links ; thence towards the south by Section No. 43 of Block III., Whangamomona Township, a distance of 250 links; and thence towards the west by Crown land, a distance of 100 links. For a municipal reserve.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No 43, Block III., Whangamomona Township. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 44 of Block III., Whangamomona Township; towards the east by the Whangamomona Road; towards the south by Section No. 42 of the said Block III.; and towards the west by Crown land. For a municipal reserve.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 32⅞ perches, more or less, being Section No. 36, Block III., Whangamomona Township. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 37 of Block III., Whangamomona Township; towards the south-east by a public road, a distance of 135·1 links; thence towards the south by Section No. 35 of the said Block III., a distance of 159·1 links; and thence towards the west by Crown land to Section No. 37 aforesaid. For a municipal reserve.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 22½ perches, more or less, being Section No. 35, Block III., Whangamomona Township. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 36 of Block III., Whangamomona Township. a distance of 159·1 links; thence towards the south-east by a public road, a distance of 236·5 links; and thence towards the west by Crown land, a distance of 175 links, to Section No. 36 aforesaid. For a municipal reserve.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District. containing by admeasurement 35 perches, more or less, being Section No. 22, Block IV., Whangamomona Township. Bounded towards the north by the Whangamomona Road; towards the east by Section No. 23 of Block IV., Whangamomona Township; towards the south by Crown land; and towards the north-west by a public road. For a municipal reserve.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 25, Block IV., Whangamomona Township. Bounded towards the north-east by the Whangamomona Road; towards the south-east by Section No. 26 of Block IV., Whangamomona Township; towards the south-west by Crown land; and towards the north-west by Section No. 24 of Block IV. aforesaid. For a site for a public hall.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same are delineated on the plan marked S.G. 53865, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 34, Block IV., Whangamomona Township. Bounded towards the north-east by a public road, a distance of 100 links; thence towards the south-east by Section No. 49 of Block IV., Whangamomona Township, a distance of 250 links; thence towards the south-west by Crown land, a distance of 100 links; and thence towards the north-west by Section No. 33 of Block IV. aforesaid. For primary education.
All that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 49, Block IV., Whangamomona Township. Bounded towards the north-east by a public road, a distance of 100 links; thence towards the south-east by a line at right angles to the last-mentioned road, a distance of 250 links; thence towards the south-west by a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary-line, a distance of 100 links; and thence towards the north-west by Section No. 34 of Block IV. aforesaid. For primary education.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same are delineated on the plan marked S.G. 53865, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured purple.

Bounded towards the north by Section No. 9 of Block I., Matire Township, a distance of 72 links; thence towards the north-east by Section No. 8 cf the said Block I., a distance of 217·8 links; thence towards the south-east by a public road, a distance of 100 links; thence towards the south-west by Section No. 6 of Block I. aforesaid, a distance of 239·1 links; and thence towards the north-west by a public road, a distance of 39·6 links.
