Lands taken for a Road in Block VI., Alford Survey District, Ashburton County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1894,” for a certain work, to wit, for the purpose of a road in Block VI., Alford Survey District:

And whereas the plans have been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor to issue a Proclamation taking the lands as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purpose of a road.

All in the Canterbury Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plans marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and five.

Land in Southland Land District withdrawn from Sale as a Village-homestead Allotment.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the section of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and is hereby withdrawn from sale as a village-homestead allotment.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION No. 12, Block IX., Town of Manapouri, containing acre 1 rood 2 perches.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and five.

Wairere Stream placed under Control of Whakatane County Council.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS the District Health Officer for the District of Hawke’s Bay has reported that it is in the interests of the public health to issue the notification hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 62 of “The Public Health Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand hereby notifies that the Wairere Stream, situate in or flowing through Block II., Whakatane Survey District, in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, is hereby placed under the sole control of the Whakatane County Council for the purposes of the said Act.

This notification shall take effect from the twentieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and five.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, this thirteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and five.

Waitetuna River and its Tributaries, Auckland Land District, notified under “The Timber-floating Act, 1884.”

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the second section of “The Timber-floating Act, 1884,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that the undermentioned river and its tributary streams and branches within the colony may be used under license for the purposes of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

THE Waitetuna River and its branches or tributary streams, situated in Raglan County.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and five.

Rural Lands in Nelson Land District open for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-six of “The Land Act, 1892,” and section two of “The Bush and Swamp Crown Lands Settlement Act, 1903,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, that is to say:—

  1. The rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto are hereby set apart for disposal by way of selection on and after the seventeenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and five, at the rentals specified in the said Schedule.

  2. The said lands may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, as provided by section one hundred and twenty-one of “The Land Act, 1892,” as they contain, or are supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone, and shall not be purchased for cash.

  3. For the purposes of “The Bush and Swamp Crown Lands Settlement Act, 1903,” the lands enumerated in the said Schedule hereto shall be deemed to be “heavy-bush land.”

  4. No general rate shall be levied or collected by any local authority from the said lands for the period of four years from the date from which, in each case respectively, such lands are disposed of, and no local authority shall have power to levy or collect any such rate from such lands during such period.

  5. After the first half-year’s rent has been paid by the selector the further instalments of rent payable by him for a period of four years shall not be demanded; provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land the rent so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount of rent previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.
