Notice of Intention to take Lands for a Road through Blocks VI. and X., Alford Survey District, Ashburton County.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road through Blocks VI. and X., Alford Survey District, Ashburton County, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is further given that the plans of the said road, and of the lands so required to be taken, are deposited in the Post-office at Mount Somers, and are there open for inspection. And notice is also given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.

Meetings of Canterbury Land Board.

HIS Excellency the Governor has, in pursuance of section 48 of “The Land Act, 1892,” been pleased to approve the following resolution, passed by the Canterbury Land Board on the 28th February, 1905:—

“That, on and after the 1st day of June, 1905, the ordinary meetings of the Canterbury Land Board be held at Christchurch on the first Thursday in each month, at 10 o’clock a.m.”

Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Borough of North-east Valley and the Mount Somers and the Patea East Road Districts.—Notice No. 942.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the undermentioned local governing bodies have by special order declared the plants enumerated opposite each to be noxious weeds within the meaning of “The Noxious Weeds Act, 1900,” in the district under the jurisdiction of each respectively:—

Authorising the Laying-off of Kingsland Terrace, in the Town of Kingsland Extension, of a Width of 66 ft.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 2 of “The Towns Main Streets Act, 1902,” I, Thomas Young Duncan, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of Kingsland Terrace, in the Town of Kingsland Extension, Auckland Land District, of a width of 66 ft., instead of 99 ft. as prescribed by section 17 of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Importation of Swine from New Zealand into certain States of the Australian Commonwealth prohibited.—Notice No. 943.

Wellington, 13th March, 1905.

THE following States have prohibited the importation of swine from New Zealand for the period stated opposite the name of each respectively:—

Queensland .. Six months from 27th October, 1904.
New South Wales .. Twelve months from 3rd November, 1904.
Victoria .. Till revoked.
Tasmania .. Twelve months from 10th May, 1904.
Western Australia .. Till revoked.

The importation of New Zealand swine into South Australia is permitted.

“Bacon, hams, cured or dressed pork (provided no viscera, or portion thereof, in an uncooked state is allowed to be imported or introduced therewith)” may be imported into Queensland; and “bacon, hams, cured or frozen pork, the latter to be accompanied by a Meat-inspector’s certificate of health from the port of shipment,” into New South Wales.

The permission for the importation of stud boars into Western Australia has been withdrawn, and Notice No. 877, in Gazette of 7th July, 1904, is accordingly cancelled.
