Special Order made by the Council of the County of Waiapu.

THE following special order, made by the Waiapu County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WAIAPU COUNTY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL ORDER made on the 18th day of October, 1905; confirmed on the 22nd day of November, 1905:—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in them in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Waiapu County Council do hereby resolve as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorised to be raised by the Waiapu County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for constructing the Kopuapounamu and the Taurangakautuku Roads, £600 to be expended on the Kopuapounamu Road and £400 on the Taurangakautuku Road, the said Waiapu County Council do hereby make and levy a special rate of 1⁹⁄₈d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Awatere Special District, comprising the lands defined in the Schedule hereto; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be 4 per cent.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Waiapu was hereto affixed in the presence of—

THE following special order, made by the Eltham Drainage Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

ELTHAM DRAINAGE BOARD.

Special Order making a Special Rate.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Eltham Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £700, authorised to be raised by the Eltham Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing the undermentioned drains, watercourses, or outfalls for water—namely, to make, construct, widen and deepen a drain, watercourse, or outfall for water from the main drain reserve on the Sangster Road at intersection of the eastern boundaries of Section 31, Block XI., and Section 36, Block XV., Ngaiere Survey District, and proceeding westwards generally along so much of such drain reserve as is lying between Sections 31, 52, 49, and 48, Block XI. aforesaid, on the north, and Sections 36 and 35, Block XV., and Section 51, Block XI. aforesaid, on the south (including the drain reserve running from the south-western boundary of Section 29, Block XI. aforesaid, to the Sangster Road, and the branch main drain reserve lying between Sections 35 and 36 aforesaid, and the Maata Road main drain reserve north and south), and also the main drain reserve from its junction with the circuit drain on and running in a south-westerly direction along the south-eastern boundary of Section 47, Block XI. aforesaid, to the Mangimangi Stream, and aggregating a distance of 300 chains, more or less (as the same are more particularly delineated on plan deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and marked S.G. 22276), the said proposed works being one continuous public work, and contained within continuous boundaries within the Eltham Drainage District — the Eltham Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¹⁵⁄₈d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of that portion of the Eltham Drainage District comprising Sections 35 and 36, Block XV., Ngaiere Survey District; Sections 31, 48, part Section 49, other part Section 49 (now shown on map as Section 52), Section 51, south-western portion of Section 47 (containing 55 acres), and southern portions of Section 29 (25 acres) and Section 50 (25 acres), all situate in Block XI. aforesaid: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off, and subject in all respects to the provisions relating to a special rate raised as security for a loan under the said Act. The interest to be paid on such loan is at the rate of £5 per cent. per annum, and the costs of raising such loan, and the interest thereon for one year, are to be paid out of the loan.

The above resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Eltham Drainage Board held on the 28th day of October, 1905, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Board held on the 29th day of November, 1905.
