charges on a loan of £500, authorised to be raised by the Eltham Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing the undermentioned drains, watercourses, or outfalls for water—namely, to make, construct, widen, and deepen a drain, watercourse, or outfall for water from about the centre of Section 53, Block XI., Ngaiere Survey District, to the main drain at the western boundary of Section 39 of said Block XI., a distance of 170 chains, more or less, the said proposed works being one continuous public work, and contained within continuous boundaries within the Eltham Drainage District—the Eltham Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of that portion of the Eltham Drainage District comprising Sections 39, 40, 43, 44, 53, and 55 of Block XI., Ngaiere Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off, and subject in all respects to the provisions relating to a special rate raised as security for a loan under the said Act. The interest to be paid on such loan is at the rate of £5 per cent. per annum, and the costs of raising such loan, and the interest thereon for one year, are to be paid out of the loan.

The above resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Eltham Drainage Board held on the 28th of October, 1905, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Board held on the 29th November, 1905.

Special Order made by the Maungatua Drainage Board.

THE following special order, made by the Maungatua Drainage Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

MAUNGATUA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

Special Resolution confirmed.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and amendments, 1902 and 1903, section 8, subsection (c), the Maungatua Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £100, authorised to be raised by the Maungatua Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for completing drainage-works and repairing extraordinary damage done by flood, the said Maungatua Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¼d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the East Subdivision of Maungatua Drainage District, comprising Sections or Lots 26, 27, 28, 28A to 37, Henley Estate, Block V., Maungatua Survey District; Lot 2 and Lot 4, part 38, part 39, Block V., Maungatua Survey District; Sections or Lots 4 to 8, 11, 29 to 62, Block VI., Maungatua Survey District; A.B. Plan 1484, being Sections 39, 44, 45, 46, Block VI., Maungatua Survey District; and Sections 39 to 46, Henley Town: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st January and the 1st June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The first half-year’s interest rate to be payable 1st January, 1906. The rate of interest is 4 per cent. per annum.

The above resolution was passed on the 2nd November, advertised 10th, 17th, 24th November, and 1st December, and duly confirmed on the 4th December, 1905, and now stands as a special order.

Notice of Intention to take Land for a Roads and for Scenic Purposes, Section 2, Block IV., Hautapu Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road, and for scenic purposes, through Section 2, Block IV., Hautapu Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is further given that the plan of the said road, and of the lands so required to be taken, is deposited in the Post-office at Taihape, and is there open for inspection. And notice is also hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.
