Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in the Boundaries of the Borough of Petone.

Wellington, 11th December, 1905.
PURSUANT to section 176 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him praying that the said area may be excluded from the County of Hutt and included in the Borough of Petone. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Colonial Secretary, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE ADDED TO THE BOROUGH OF PETONE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in Block XIV., Belmont Survey District, bounded towards the north by the road known as “White’s Line” from the Okoutu branch of the Hutt River to Original Section No. 21, Block XIV. aforesaid; thence by the said Section No. 21 to the north-eastern corner of Original Section No. 238; thence towards the east generally by the said Section No. 21, Original Section No. 16, Block XIV. aforesaid, and the production of the north-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section across the Wainuiomata Road to the north-eastern corner of Original Section No. 21, Block XVI.; thence by the last-mentioned section to the south-eastern corner of Original Section No. 77, Block XIV.; thence towards the south by Original Sections Nos. 21 and 20, Block XVI., to Port Nicholson; and thence towards the south-west by the waters of Port Nicholson and the Okoutu branch of the Hutt River to the place of commencement.

SCHEDULE.
AREAS PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF FOXTON AND INCLUDED IN THE MANAWATU COUNTY.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in the Borough of Foxton, bounded towards the north generally by the southern side of Purcell Street from where the southern side of that street leaves the Manawatu River to its junction with Nye Street; thence towards the east by the eastern side of the said Nye Street to the junction of that street with Union Street; thence again towards the north by the southern side of Union Street to its junction with the road known as No. 6 line; thence again towards the west by the said No. 6 line to the northernmost corner of Section No. 463, Block VI., Mount Robinson Survey District; thence towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary of the Borough of Foxton, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 25, of the 19th April, 1888, to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 451, Block VI. aforesaid; thence towards the east generally by the eastern boundary of the said Borough of Foxton to the Manawatu River; and thence towards the south-west and west generally by the said Manawatu River to the place of commencement.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in the Borough of Foxton, bounded towards the north-east by the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 468, Block I., Mount Robinson Survey District, from a point distant westerly 50 chains from the easternmost corner of the said Section No. 468 to the north-western corner of Section No. 467; thence towards the south-east by the last-mentioned section, and the production of the western boundary-line of the said Section No. 467 to the Manawatu River; thence by the right bank of the said Manawatu River to a point due south of the place of commencement; and thence towards the west by a right line to the place of commencement.

PURSUANT to section 175 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition has been presented to him praying for the constitution of the area described in the Schedule hereto as a borough under the said Act, to be named the Borough of Mount Eden. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the constitution of the said borough which they may desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Colonial Secretary, Wellington.

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE PROPOSED BOROUGH OF MOUNT EDEN.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, bounded towards the north generally by the City of Auckland from the easternmost corner of Original Allotment No. 2 of Section No. 10 of the Suburbs of Auckland to the northernmost corner of Allotment No. 105 of Section No. 6 of the Suburbs of Auckland (gaol reserve); thence towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary-lines of Allotments Nos. 105 and 106 of the said Section No. 6 to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned allotment; thence towards the south-east generally by the eastern boundary-lines of Allotments Nos. 106, 107, and 108 of Section No. 6 aforesaid and the last-mentioned boundary-line produced to the Mount Eden Recreation Reserve; thence by the eastern boundary-lines of the said Mount Eden Recreation Reserve to the northernmost corner of Original Allotment No. 11 of Section No. 6 aforesaid; thence by the north-eastern boundary-lines of Original Allotments Nos. 11 and 12 and the south-eastern boundary-lines of Original Allotments Nos. 13 and 47 of Section No. 6 aforesaid to the northern boundary-line of Original Allotment No. 68 of Section No. 10 aforesaid; thence by the northern boundary-line of the last-mentioned allotment to a point distant 1356 links from the north-eastern corner of the said Allotment No. 68; thence by a right line to a point on the northern boundary-line of Original Allotment No. 75 of Section No. 10 aforesaid distant 1356 links from the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned allotment; thence by Subdivisional Allotments Nos. 9 and 10 of the said Original Allotment No. 75 to a point on the southern boundary-line of the said Allotment No. 75 distant 1356 links from its south-eastern corner; thence by a right line to a point on the northern boundary-line of Allotment No. 79 distant 1356 links from its north-eastern corner; thence towards the south-west by the southern side of the road forming the northern boundaries of Original Allotments Nos. 79, 92, and 115 of Section No. 10 aforesaid to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned allotment; thence by a right line across Mount Roskill Road to the easternmost corner of Allotment No. 125 of Section No. 10 aforesaid; thence by the said Allot-
