Situated on the Arnold Road, which branches off the Makahu Road about one mile and a quarter from the Ohura Road. Access from Stratford, thirty-five miles distant, about half of which is a metalled road, the remainder a formed dray-road to within about 10 chains of the section. Comprises steep and broken country, with a narrow valley on the Arnold Road of from 4 chains to 6 chains wide. The forest is heavy, comprising rimu, tawhero, birch, &c., with usual undergrowth. The soil is inferior, resting on a sandstone formation; well watered. Elevation varies from 500 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level.

Situated on Rimuputa and Maikai Roads. Access from Stratford, fifty-six miles distant, about twenty miles of which is a metalled road, thirty-four miles a formed dray-road, and about two miles bridle and pack track. Comprises steep slopes, with a few small flats along Tuhara Stream. Forest heavy, comprising tawa, rata, rimu, &c., with a thick undergrowth of supplejack. The soil is of fair quality, resting on papa formation; well watered. Elevation varies from 400 ft. to 800 ft. above sea-level.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and six; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”
