Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at a point in the Town of Lawrence about 1 chain east of Section No. 26 (Athenæum Reserve), Block XLII., which point is also the termination of the line of railway from Tokomairiro to Lawrence, as described in a Proclamation dated the 16th day of July, 1873, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 45, of the 17th day of July, 1873; proceeding thence generally in a westerly and then in a northerly direction for a distance of about four miles, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Crown lands, Town of Lawrence; railway reserves, Crown lands, Sections Nos. 56 and 64, all in Block XX., Tuapeka East Survey District; Crown lands, railway reserves, Sections Nos. 80 and 93, Block VI., Tuapeka West Survey District; railway reserves, Section No. 80, Crown lands, Sections Nos. 81, 82, and 1, Block III., Tuapeka West Survey District—and terminating in said Section No. 1 at a point distant about 5 chains in a northerly direction from the southern boundary thereof: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Otago: as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 21713, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and five.

Land in Paritutu Survey District taken for the Purposes of a Rifle Range.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1905,” for the purposes of a rifle range:

And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a rifle range as aforesaid; and it is hereby further declared that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the fourteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and five.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of November, 1905.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work, to wit, for the purpose of a cemetery-site, Paeroa No. 2 Block, Block XIII., Opoiti Survey District:

And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:

And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said land, as required by the eighty-ninth section of “The Public Works Act, 1905”:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-ninth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purpose of the said cemetery-site, and the said land shall vest in the Chairman, Councillors, and Ratepayers of the Wairoa County, as from the twenty-fifth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and six.
