Special Order made by the Council of the County of Bruce.

THE following special order, made by the Bruce County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BRUCE COUNTY COUNCIL.

THE following is an extract from the minutes of a special meeting of the Bruce County Council held at noon on Tuesday, the 6th day of December, 1904 (business, to confirm special orders re the Tokomairiro loan of £250) :—

Councillor Tough moved and Councillor Bryce seconded, That the following special order be confirmed : That, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Bruce County Council hereby resolves as follows : That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £250, authorised to be raised under “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for works done in Tokomairiro Riding under a loan of £3,500, the said Bruce County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅓d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of Tokomairiro Riding ; and that the said special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be paid half-yearly on the 1st day of January and 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.— The motion was agreed to.

The above is a correct copy of the minutes of the special meeting held at the County Office, Milton, at noon on Tuesday, 6th December, 1904.

BOROUGH OF WANGANUI.

Notice under Section 13 of “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

I HEREBY publicly notify that at the poll taken on the 5th day of December, 1904, on the proposal of the Wanganui Borough Council to borrow the sum of £15,000 for gasworks extensions, the following votes were recorded :—

For the proposal, 385 ; against the proposal, 127 ; informal, 12.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Notice under Section 13 of “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

I HEREBY publicly notify that at the poll taken on the 5th day of December, 1904, on the proposal of the Wanganui Borough Council to borrow the sum of £11,500 for drainage and street works, the following votes were recorded :—

For the proposal, 303 ; against the proposal, 201 ; informal, 4.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Petone, is published in accordance with the provisions of “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BOROUGH OF PETONE.

Notice is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of the Petone Borough, including all persons entitled to vote on proposals to raise loans, was duly taken at the Odd Fellows’ Hall, Petone, on Tuesday, the 6th day of December, 1904, upon the following proposal :

A proposal to raise a loan of £8,000 for enlarging the gas-making plant and extending the gas-mains of the Corporation gasworks of the Petone Borough, which sum it is proposed to raise on the security of the gasworks or other lighting plant, subject to loans of £8,500 (1899), £2,000 (1901), £8,000 (1902), and a further security of a special rate of 3¾d. in the pound sterling on the annual rateable value of all the rateable property within the Borough of Petone.

And at such poll the number of votes recorded was : For the proposal, 126 ; against the proposal, 57 ; informal votes, 3.

I do hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

BOROUGH OF PETONE.

Notice is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of the Petone Borough, including all persons entitled to vote on proposals to raise loans, was duly taken at the Odd Fellows’ Hall, Petone, on Tuesday, the 6th day of December, 1904, upon the following proposal :—

A proposal to raise a loan of £5,000 for the purpose of erecting municipal offices, with shops on Jackson Street frontage, which sum it is proposed to raise on the security of the freehold of Sections 1 and 2, D.P. 51, being part of Section 5, Hutt District, and a further security of a special rate of 2d. in the pound sterling on the annual rateable value of all the rateable property within the Borough of Petone.

And at such poll the number of votes recorded was : For the proposal, 116 ; against the proposal, 67 ; informal votes, 3.

I do hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF LAWRENCE.

I, GEORGE JEFFERY, Mayor of the Borough of Lawrence, do hereby give notice that on the 7th day of December, 1904, a poll of the ratepayers in the said borough was taken on the proposal of the Council of the said borough to raise a special loan of £5,000 under “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purposes of lighting the streets and public places of the said borough with electricity and supplying electricity for lighting purposes and motive power to the inhabitants thereof, and for acquiring land, erecting buildings, and providing machinery and plant for effecting such lighting and supply of electricity.
