County Office, Milton, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of August, 1904:—
That on and after the 2nd day of August, 1904, Kaitangata Riding will be constituted a special-works district, to be known as the Kaitangata Flood Repairing District, as shown upon a map to be seen at the county office.
LEVYING SPECIAL RATES.
That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Bruce County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorised to be raised by the Bruce County Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for repairing damages done by flood in March last, the said Bruce County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¼d. in the pound upon all the rateable property of the Kaitangata Riding; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

PAPAKURA ROAD DISTRICT.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Papakura Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £400, bearing interest at 4 per cent. per annum, authorised to be raised by Papakura Road Board under the above-mentioned Act for metalling Brookby end of district, the said Papakura Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅖d. in the pound on the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the No. 1 Special-rating Division, comprising Sections 27, 41, 47, 48, 49, 50, 66, and 79, Parish of Wairoa, 27, 28, 39, 40, 41, 48, 50, 51, 52, 56, 67, and 68, Parish of Maraetai, 26, 27, 55, 65, 80, 134, 135, 136, 164, 189, and 190, Parish of Pakuranga; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of August and the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

HOBSON COUNTY.
Section 5, Subsection (1), “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1902.”
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1902,” the Hobson County Council hereby resolves as follows: That whereas a special loan of £6,108 18s. 6d. was inscribed in the year 1888, and secured by a special rate made over the whole of the Hobson County, and it is now desired to pay the interest and sinking fund out of the General Fund of the Hobson County Council: Now, therefore, it is resolved that the said interest and sinking fund be paid out of the General Fund of the said Council, and that this resolution, passed at a special meeting held on the 15th day of June, 1904, is hereby confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the said Council held the 20th day of July, 1904; public notice of the time and place of this said meeting and of the said resolution having been published in the Wairoa Bell on the 24th day of June, and the 1st, 8th, and 15th days of July, 1904.

East Coast.
PORT NATAL.—A red lt.-buoy, surm. by a cage, black and white vert., exh. a F. white lt., is est. on the S. side of the inner end of the Bluff Chan. Vessels should not pass this buoy on its S. side. June.
DELAGOA BAY.—Depths of 2¾ and 3 fms. L.W. have been obtained in approx. 25° 57½′ S., 32° 48′ E., on the 4½-fm. shoal, 5½ miles N. 63° W. from Gibbon Pt. beacon. Also, the shoal on the nrn. side of the entr. to English River W. of Reuben Pt. has extended, a depth of 2¼ fms. having been obtained in approx. 25° 59′ S., 32° 35′ E., with Reuben Pt. Lt.-h. S. 80° E. 8½ cables, and Lorenzo Marques Hospital N. 5° E. July.
INDIAN OCEAN.
RANGOON RIVER ENTR.—Spit lt.-v., exh. a F. white lt., R. 12 miles, is replaced on her station (16° 27′ N., 96° 22′ E.). July.
EASTERN ARCHIPELAGO, ETC.
RHIO STRAIT.—Two leading lts. are to be est. on Pulo Tunjuk for the nrn. entr. to the strait: The front lt. F. red, vis. from S. 3° W., through S., to S. 7° E., elev. 59 ft. above H.W., R. 13 miles, is to be exh. near the W. coast of the isl.; and the rear lt. fl. white, occasionally obsc. by trees from S. 6° W. to S. 85° W., elev. 72 ft. above H.W., R. 14 miles, is to be exh. in 0° 56½′ N., 104° 12¼′ E., on the S. part of the isl., 2¼ cables S. 2° E. from the front lt. July.
BANKA STRAIT.—Lt.-buoys, exh. occ. white lts. every 20 secs., vis. 10 secs., ecl. 10 secs., are to be est. in the following positions:—1. A white lt.-buoy will be moored in approx. 2° 22½′ S., 105° 36¾′ E., near Third Pt. 2. The black can buoy in Stanton Chan., 8⁴⁄₅ miles S. 85° W. from Tabo Ali Fort, to be replaced by a black lt.-buoy. July.
Pulo Dapur F. white lt., in 3° 7¾′ S., 106° 31¼′ E., srn. entr. to the strait, is to be replaced by a fl. white lt. every 30 secs.—Fl. 5 secs.; ecl. 25 secs. July.
AUSTRALIA.
East Coast.
PORT JACKSON.—Two F. white leading lts., marking the centre of the fairway between Kirribilli Pt. and Goat Isl., are est. on Goat Isl. :—Front lt., elev. 12 ft. above H.W.,
