UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1898.”

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Roxburgh.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1898,” the undersigned, Joseph Henry Haughton, of Roxburgh East, Farmer, hereby applies for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 23rd July, 1904; No. 43358.

Address for service: Care of Robert Cockburn, Roxburgh.

Dated at Roxburgh, this 25th day of July, 1904.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points: Block III., Teviot Survey District. Starting in Section 4, at the Roxburgh Amalgamated Company’s by-wash, thence through Sections 6 and 8, and terminating in Section 10 near road-line.

Length and intended course of race: One mile, north and east.

Points of intake: The commencing-point.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Three months; £20.

Mean depth and breadth: 3 ft. by 4 ft.

Number of heads to be diverted: Two heads.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation purposes.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

NOTIFICATION.—Notice is hereby given that on the hearing thereof a certificate of abandonment of water-race license, last renewal No. 585, dated 5th February, 1900, will be asked for, and may be granted unless cause to the contrary is shown.

Objections thereto must be filed in the Registrar’s office and notified to applicant at least twenty-four hours before the day so appointed.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and its amendments; and in the matter of the WAITAHUNA CINNABAR COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the above-named company, duly convened, and held in the registered office of the said company, at the Government Life Insurance Buildings, 102, Princes Street, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 10th day of August, 1904, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed, viz.:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the company, and that the company be wound up accordingly.”

Notice is also given that at the same meeting WILLIAM EDWIN CHARLES REID was appointed Liquidator for the purposes of the winding-up.

In the matter of “The Foreign Companies Act, 1884”; and in the matter of the TALISMAN CONSOLIDATED (LIMITED), a company incorporated in England on the 8th day of April, 1904, under the English Companies Acts.

NOTICE is hereby given that the above-mentioned company has commenced to carry on business in the Colony of New Zealand, and that its registered office for the said colony is the office of the company situated at Karangahake, in the Provincial District of Auckland, in the said colony.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Meeting of Shareholders of the above company will be held at the office of Mitchell and Leslie, 13, Exchange Court, Princes Street, Dunedin, on Friday, 4th November, 1904, at 3.30 o’clock p.m., when the following resolutions will be submitted:—

  1. That the report of the Liquidator, together with the accounts submitted to this meeting, showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, be received and adopted.

  2. That the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the liquidation thereof be retained by the Liquidator for a period of three months, and after that period that they be destroyed.

EVIDENCE having been furnished of the loss of certificate of title, Volume 209, folio 93, comprising Lots 130 and 131, Plan 13, part of Rural Section 2, situated in the Borough of Sumner, whereof FRANCIS ARENAS, of Christchurch, Gentleman, is the registered proprietor, and application having been made to me to issue a provisional certificate of title, I hereby give notice that I will issue such provisional certificate at the expiration of fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.
