108, and 104, Whangape Parish aforesaid, to the north-
eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by the
northern boundary of Whangape Parish to the Mangatea
Stream; thence by the said Mangatea Stream to its junction
with the Opuatia Stream; thence by the Opuatia Stream to
Section No. 8, Parish of Opuatia; thence by the western
and northern boundary-lines of the said Section No. 8 to
the Opuatia Stream; thence towards the west generally by
the said Opuatia Stream to the Waikato River; thence by
the left bank of the Waikato River to a point opposite the
mouth of the Whangamarino River; thence towards the
north-west generally by a right line to the mouth of that
river; thence by the said Whangamarino River to its con-
fluence with the Maramarua River; thence by the said
Maramarua River to its confluence with the Mangatangi
River; thence by the said Mangatangi River to the northern
boundary-line of the Koheroa Parish; thence again towards
the north by the northern boundary-line of that parish to
the Frith of Thames; and thence by the Frith of Thames
to the mouth of the Piako River; thence towards the east
by the Piako River to its intersection by a right line joining
Te Aroha Trig. Station and Putakauere, on the Waikato
River; thence towards the south generally by that line to
Putakauere aforesaid; thence by a right line to the northern
corner of Section No. 22, Parish of Whangape; thence by
the southern and eastern shores of Lake Whangape to its
southernmost corner; thence by a right line running west-
south-west to the sea; and thence towards the west by the
sea to the place of commencement.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come
into operation on the first day of February, in the year
of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four.

Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George;
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred
by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter
John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do by this notice hereby proclaim as taken for
a road the land in the Geraldine County, Geraldine Survey
District, hereinafter described, that is to say,—

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more par-

lngton Land District.

Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George;

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the seventy-third section of “The Local
Bodies' Loans Act, 1901” (herein termed “the said
Act”), it is, amongst other things, enacted that before cer-
tain moneys therein mentioned shall be expended upon any
block of land it shall be necessary that the same be pro-
claimed as set apart for settlement:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power
and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the pur-
poses of the said Act, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby pro-
claim the land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart
for settlement.

or near the Township of Bull's, in the Rangitikei County
Council, and apportioning the Cost of Maintenance.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and fourteen of
“The Public Works Act, 1894” (hereinafter termed
“the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor
may, upon the terms and conditions in the said section
mentioned, by Proclamation publicly notified, direct that
any bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be
constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea re-
spectively shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such
Proclamation, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of such local authority as shall be mentioned
in that behalf in such Proclamation, and may, by any such
Proclamation as aforesaid, fix and determine whether all or
any, and if so what part, of the cost, whether theretofore
incurred or thereafter to be incurred, of maintaining, repair-
ing, improving, or reconstructing any such bridge is to be
provided and paid by the local authority or local authorities,
and, if so, by what local authority or authorities; and may,
by any such Proclamation as aforesaid, direct how, when,
and to whom any such payment is to be made:

And whereas it is expedient to make provision under the
said Act for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter set
forth:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and in exercise of the powers and authority vested in me by
the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in
anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and
direct that the said bridge shall, from and after the date of
this Proclamation, be under the exclusive care and control
and management of the Council of the County of Rangitikei;
and, in further pursuance of the aforesaid powers and autho-
rities, I do hereby fix and determine that the cost of main-
taining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing the said
