An Act to enable the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland (hereinafter called “the City Council”) (a) to lease the Auckland City Market for any Term not exceeding Ten Years, (b) to lease a Part of the Land formerly known as Fort Britomart Reserve and Public Road for any Term not exceeding Fifty Years.
Private Acts.
No. 1. An Act to provide for the Holding of Real and Personal Property by Trustees on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Antient Free and Accepted Masons of New Zealand and Lodges subject to such Grand Lodge, and to provide for the Succession of Title thereto.
No. 2. An Act to amend “The Presbyterian Church of Otago Lands Act, 1866,” “The Dunedin Church Lands Ordinance, 1861,” and “The Dunedin Presbyterian Church Lands Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1874,” by determining the present Trusts on which Section numbered Four on the Record-map of the North-east Valley District is held, and declaring new Trusts upon which the said Section shall be held, and declaring that the Rents, Issues, Profits, and Income of Reserve numbered Five and Block numbered Fifty-one of the City of Dunedin may be held in trust for or applied towards the Erection and Maintenance of a College or other Educational Institution on the said Section numbered Four.

My LORD,—I have the honour to inform you that His Majesty will not be advised to exercise his powers of disallowance with respect to Act No. 50 of 1903 of the Legislature of New Zealand, shortly entitled “The Australian and New Zealand Naval Defence Act, 1903,” copies of which accompanied your despatch No. 117, of the 12th December last.
[Remainder of despatch refers to certain recent alterations in the limits of the Australian, China, and East Indies naval stations.]

Notice respecting Proposed Borough of Waitara, County of Taranaki.

PURSUANT to section 175 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition has been presented to him praying for the constitution of the area described in the Schedule hereto as a borough under the said Act, to be named the Borough of Waitara. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the constitution of the said borough which they may desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Colonial Secretary, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE PROPOSED BOROUGH OF WAITARA.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, situated in Waitara and Paritutu Survey Districts, containing about 2,150 acres. Bounded towards the north-east by Puketapu Road from Waihi Road to the northernmost corner of Section No. 23 (Waitara East District); thence towards the south-east by the said Section No. 23 to the westernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence again towards the north-east by Sections Nos. 23, 28, and 33, all of the said Waitara East District, to the Waipapa Road; thence again towards the south-east by the north-western side of the said Waipapa Road, the abutment of Karaka Road, Section No. 48 (Waitara East District), and the north-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section, produced in a south-westerly direction to the right bank of the Waitara River; thence towards the south-west by the said right bank of the Waitara River to a point due east of the confluence of the Mangahinau Stream with the Waitara River; thence again towards the south by a right line to the said confluence of the Mangahinau Stream with the Waitara River; thence by the said Mangahinau Stream to the western side of Nelson Road; thence towards the west by the said western side of Nelson Road to the easternmost corner of Section No. 28, Waitara West; thence again towards the south-east by part of Section No. 29, Waitara West, and the north-western boundary-line of that section produced across the railway reserve; again by part of Section No. 29 to the southernmost corner of Section No. 20, Waitara West; thence towards the south-west by the north-eastern side of a road forming the north-eastern boundary-line of Sections Nos. 55, 54, and 51, Waitara West, to the westernmost corner of Section No. 5, Waitara West; thence towards the west generally by the western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 5 and 6, the abutment of a road, the western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 3 and 2 to the southern side of Brown Road; thence towards the north-west by the southern side of Brown Road and the southern side of Battiscombe Terrace, and by the production of the last-mentioned line in a north-easterly direction to the sea at high-water mark; thence towards the north-east by the sea by a line at high-water mark to a point in line with the southern side of Waihi Road; thence again towards the north generally by a right line to the southern side of Waihi Road; thence by the said side of the Waihi Road to Puketapu Road.

Authorising the Laying-off of the Main Streets in the Town of Newnham of a Width of 66 ft.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 2 of “The Towns Main Streets Act, 1902,” I, Thomas Young Duncan, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of Loughborough Street, Harborough Street, and Evesham Street, in the Town of Newnham, Canterbury Land District, of a width of 66 ft., instead of 99 ft. as prescribed by section 17 of “The Land Act, 1892.”
