HAWERA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order raising Loan.

RESOLUTION: In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,” “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and all other enabling powers, the Hawera Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

(1.) To borrow by way of special loan (to be hereafter known as the Hawera Borough Abattoir Special Loan) a further sum of £2,000, for the purpose of providing the balance of the cost of the erection of a public abattoir, acquiring a site for the same, and connecting same with the Hawera Borough water and drainage system.

(2.) That such special loan shall be obtained from the New Zealand Government, and bear interest at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum for a period of forty-one years, as provided by clause (c) of subsection (1) of section 8, “Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1903.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution adopted at a special meeting of the Hawera Borough Council held on Wednesday, 24th February, 1904, and confirmed at a meeting of the Council held on Thursday, 24th March, 1904.

HAWERA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.

RESOLUTION: In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Hawera Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorised to be raised by the Hawera Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing the balance of the cost of the erection of a public abattoir, acquiring a site for the same, and connecting same with the Hawera Borough water and drainage system, the said Hawera Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Hawera; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I HEREBY certify that the Hawera Borough Council has, by special order, authorised the raising of a loan of £2,000 for the purpose of providing the balance of the cost of the erection of a public abattoir, acquiring a site for the same, and connecting same with the Hawera Borough water and drainage system.

BOROUGH OF DANNEVIRKE.
Special Order making Special Rate.—Abattoir Loan, £5,000.

Moved by His Worship the Mayor, seconded by Councillor A. L. Gordon, and carried,—That this Council do now resolve the following resolution: That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and Acts amending the same, the Dannevirke Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That it be a special order that this Council raise a special loan, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and Acts amending the same, for the purpose of providing for the purchase of land and the cost of erection of abattoirs thereon for the Borough of Dannevirke, together with architectural supervision, one year’s interest on loan, and contingent expenses of £5,000: the security to be pledged for such loan shall be the land and buildings erected thereon, and the revenues therefrom; also a special rate of 3d. in the pound on all rateable property within the borough for payment of interest and sinking fund: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the same.

A special meeting of the Council was called for and held on the 8th day of March, 1904, at the Borough Council Chambers, Dannevirke, at 8 p.m., for the purpose of confirming the foregoing resolution, which said resolution was adopted by the Council at a special meeting thereof held on the 26th day of January, 1904, and now confirmed as a special order. In witness whereof the common seal of the Corporation is affixed thereto.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Gore hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £6,000, authorised to be raised by the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Gore, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the North and South Wards drainage, the said Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Gore hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅔d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Borough of Gore; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Dated this 21st day of March, 1904.
