Special Order made by the Waimate Road Board.

THE following special order, made by the Waimate Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WAIMATE ROAD BOARD.
SPECIAL ORDER re Glenn Road £800 Loan, made on the 9th day of February, 1904, and confirmed on the 10th day of March, 1904:—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Waimate Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £800, authorised to be raised by the Waimate Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming and metalling the unmetalled portions of the Glenn Road within the southern subdivision of the Waimate Road District, the said Waimate Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 5/16d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Glenn Road No. 2 Loan Special-rating District, comprising Sections 34 to 39 (all inclusive), Subsections 1 and 2 of Section 40, and Sections 5, 6, and 7 of Block II., the eastern portion of Section 56 (25 acres) and the western portion of Section 57 (21 acres 2 roods 20 perches) of Block VI., all in the Waimate Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I certify that the above special order was duly made in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special orders, made by the Southland County Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

SOUTHLAND COUNTY COUNCIL.
Resolution by way of Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Southland County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,400, authorised to be raised by the Southland County Council, as representing the Otaraia Road Board (now defunct) by merger, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies Loans’ Act, 1901,” for the purpose of paying so much of the principal of a loan as is not provided for by the accumulated sinking fund held for the payment thereof raised by the Otaraia Road Board, and for which loan the said Council is now liable, the said Southland County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of the rateable property of the district known before the merger thereof as the Otarai*a Road District, comprising all that area of land bounded on the north by the Township of East Gore and Pukerau Stream; thence on the west by Block II., Waikaka Survey District; thence again towards the north by Glenkenich Survey District; thence towards the east by the Clutha County to a point due east of the south-eastern corner of Tuturau Survey District; thence on the south by a right line through Slopedown Survey District to the south-east corner of Tuturau Survey District; thence on the west by the Tuturau Survey District to the north-east corner of said district; and again towards the south by the aforesaid Tuturau Survey District to the Mataura River; and again towards the west by the Mataura River to the Township of East Gore aforesaid: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of March and the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off: the said rate payable at the Southland County Council Office, Invercargill.
Copy of Resolution passed on the 11th March, 1904, confirming the above Special Order.
That this Council hereby confirms the special order, being resolution number 5, passed on the 12th February, 1904, making a special rate in the Otarai*a Road District (some time merged in Southland County) of ½d. in the pound on the unimproved rateable value of the rateable property in the said district; such special order to come into force on date of gazetting of same.
I hereby certify that the foregoing special order was duly made in accordance with the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886,” and its amendments.

Resolution by way of Special Order to raise Loan.
That, for the purpose of paying so much of the principal of a loan as is not provided for by the accumulated sinking funds held for the payment thereof, raised by the Otarai*a Road Board in the year 1897, and which becomes payable on the 11th day of February, 1904, this Council resolves to borrow, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the sum of £1,400, payable ten years after the raising of the same, and bearing interest at the rate of £4 per centum per annum, with a sinking fund of £2 per centum per annum, and also resolves to raise such loan by the issue of fourteen debentures of £100 each under the same Acts.
Copy of Resolution passed on the 11th March, 1904, confirming the above Special Order.
That this Council hereby confirms the special order, being resolution numbered 4, passed on the 12th February, 1904, to issue fourteen debentures of £100 each, bearing interest at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum, to pay off an equal amount of debentures now matured.
I hereby certify that the foregoing special order was duly made in accordance with the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886,” and its amendments.
