the summit of the watershed between the Hollyford River

summit of the leading range to Homer's Saddle; thence by
the summit of the watershed between the Hollyford River
and the Cleddau River to Tutoko Peak; thence by the sum-
mit of the leading range to Pembroke Peak; thence by a
line along the summit of the watershed between John
o' Groats River and Thurso River to the sea at Stripe Point,
about one mile and a half south of the mouth of John
o' Groats River; thence on the north-west by the Tasman
Sea to George Sound, and south-westerly by that sound till
it meets the boundary heretofore existing between the said
two registration districts; thence generally easterly along
that boundary to the commencing-point.

Altering the Boundaries of the Deeds Registration Districts
of Otago and Southland.


PLUNKET, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twelfth
day of December, 1904.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by “The Deeds Registration Act, 1868,”
it is enacted that the Governor in Council may
from time to time define and alter the boundaries of any
deeds registration district under the said Act: And whereas
it is expedient to alter the limits of the Otago and South-
land Deeds Registration Districts respectively by including
within the limits of the latter district certain lands described
in the Schedule hereto, which have heretofore been included
within the limits of the former district:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by
the above-mentioned Act, and by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do
hereby order that, from and after the twelfth day of
December, one thousand nine hundred and four, the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be in the
Otago Deeds Registration District, and shall henceforth be
in the Southland Deeds Registration District; and the
boundaries of the said several districts are hereby altered
accordingly.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area heretofore included in the Otago Deeds Regis-
tration District, commencing at a point on the western
shore of Lake Wakatipu, due east from Round Peak,
5,780 ft., in the Von Survey District; thence towards the
south by a right line to the said Round Peak; thence
towards the south-west generally by the summit of the
range leading to the summit of the Thomson Mountains;
thence by the summit of the watershed between the sources
of the Greenstone River and the Mararoa River to David
Peaks, by the summit of the watershed between the source

the summit of the watershed between the Hollyford River

Authorising Sale of Land in Section 36, Block III.,
Waikouaiti Survey District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twelfth
day of December, 1904.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twenty-nine of “The Public
Works Act, 1894” (hereinafter termed “the said
Act”), it is enacted that if it is found that any land held,
taken, or acquired at any time, under that Act or any other
Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever, for
any public work, is not required for such public work, the
Governor may, by an Order in Council publicly notified
and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the condi-
tions set forth in the said Act:

And whereas the parcel of land described in the Schedule
hereto has been acquired for a public work that is to
say, for gasworks in connection with the Lunatic Asylum
at Seacliff: And whereas the said parcel of land is not now
required for the purposes of the said gasworks, and the
Minister for Public Works has recommended that this
Order in Council should be issued authorising such parcel
of land to be sold:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities aforesaid, do hereby authorise the land described
in the Schedule hereto to be dealt with and sold in the
manner and subject to the conditions of the twenty-ninth
and following sections of the said Act.

Determination of Leases compulsorily under “The Native
Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895.”


PLUNKET, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twelfth
day of December, 1904.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto,
which has been acquired by the Crown from
Natives, is subject to valid and duly registered leases, held
along with other lands as lessees by Charles James Tully,
Francis George Tully, and Frances Campbell Tully, the
registered numbers of the said leases being 2845 and 2846:

And whereas the said land is required for settlement, and,
upon the requisition of the Minister of Lands, the Board of
Land Purchase Commissioners has duly reported thereon:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the power in this
behalf conferred upon him by section seventy of “The
Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” and acting on
the recommendation of the said Board, and by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby absolutely determine the said leases as
to the whole of the land so described.


SCHEDULE.

HIKAWERA SETTLEMENT (TABLELANDS ESTATE).

ALL that parcel of land situate in the Land District of Wel-
ington, containing by admeasurement 2,605 acres 2 roods
