Special Order made by the Council of the County of Waipawa.

THE following special order, made by the Waipawa County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WAIPAWA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” the Waipawa County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and sinking fund on a loan of £1,500, authorised to be raised by the Waipawa County Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, for bridging, forming, and metalling 97 chains of the Mangahe Road and 110 chains of the Pukokomuka Road, commencing at the junction of the Mangahe and Tuturewa Roads, and continuing to the junction of the Mangahe and Pukokomuka Roads, thence from that junction along the Pukokomuka Road the above distance of 110 chains, the said Waipawa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3½d. in the pound upon all the rateable valuation of all the rateable properties of the Mangahe–Pukokomuka Road Loan Special-rating District, comprising Sections 2, 6, Block VI., Sections 10, 11, 12, Block II., half of Section 1, Block VI., and half of Section 8, half of Section 13, and half of Section 14, Block II., Mangatoro Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. That the cost of raising the loan and the interest for one year during the construction of the road shall be paid out of the loan. That this special order shall take effect on and from the 1st day of November, 1903.
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a special order made by the Waipawa County Council on the 2nd day of September, 1903, and confirmed on the 7th day of October, 1903.

That the cost of raising such loan and the interest for one year during the construction of the road shall be paid out of the loan. Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Kihikihi Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”
I, JOHN GEORGE ELMSLY, Chairman of the Kihikihi Town Board, do hereby certify that on the 10th day of October, 1903, a poll of the ratepayers of the Kihikihi Town District was taken, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, upon the proposal of the Kihikihi Town Board to engage in the following undertaking, to wit: To purchase part of Allotment 167 of the Town of Kihikihi as a site for a Town Hall, and to erect thereon a building to be used as the public office of the Board, and a hall for the purpose of enjoyment and recreation, at an estimated cost of £700; and, to enable it to do so, to borrow a sum of £700, at a rate of interest not exceeding £5 per centum per annum, upon the security of the revenues of the said building and of a special rate of ½d. in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Kihikihi Town District; such loan to be repaid by thirty-five half-yearly payments of £20 each. It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan.
There were recorded: For the above proposal, 32 votes; against the above proposal, 14 votes; informal, 1 vote: total valid votes recorded, 46 votes.
The number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being at least three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded at the poll, I declare the above proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Wanganui County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WANGANUI COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of poll taken upon the 17th day of October, 1903, upon a proposal of the Wanganui County Council to raise a loan of £2,500 under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of constructing the Aberfeldie Bridge (£1,000), and of reconstructing the Wanganui Bridge (£1,500). It is proposed to pledge as security for such loan a special rate of 1/10d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property in the Wanganui County. Such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off; and such rate shall be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each year, interest being paid at the rate of 3½ per cent. per annum. The cost of raising the loan and interest for the first year will be paid out of the loan.
For the proposal, 66; against the proposal, 6.
I therefore declare the proposal to be duly carried.
