pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the
land in the Southland Land District described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said
Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land
so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Southland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood, more or less, being
Sections Nos. 1 to 9 inclusive, Block XIII., Town of River-
ton. Bounded towards the north-west by Sections Nos. 20,
19, 18, 17, 16, 15, and 14; towards the north-east by Section
No. 10; towards the south-east by Bath Road; and towards
the south-west by Lansdowne Crescent: as the same is
delineated on the plan marked S.G. 51080, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Welling-
ton, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered
red. For a reserve for railway purposes.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-second day of September, one thou-
sand nine hundred and three.

Land temporarily reserved in the Wellington Land District.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section
of "The Land Act, 1892," it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, either by general or parti-
cular description, and whether the same has been surveyed
or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that
the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of
the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the
land in the Wellington Land District described in the Sche-
dule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Sche-
dule specified at the end of the description of the land so
intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 79 acres, more or less, being Section
No. 78, Block V., Waioponu Survey District. Bounded
towards the north by Pretoria Road; towards the east by
Florida Road; towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 49,
48, and 46; and towards the north-west by Section No. 77:
as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 50876,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and
Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District,
and thereon coloured purple. For an endowment for pri-
mary education.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-second day of September, one thou-
sand nine hundred and three.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Canterbury.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
was heretofore duly set apart for plantation pur-
poses, being a reserve within Class I. of "The Public
Reserves Act, 1881," and such land has not been vested in
trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees:
And whereas it is expedient that such reserve shall be
appropriated for a public recreation-ground, being a reserve
in Class III. of the aforesaid Act:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the powers and authorities vested in me by the second
section of "The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act,
1889," do by this notification declare that the said reserve
shall, from and after the first day of October, one thousand
nine hundred and three, be appropriated for a public recrea-
tion-ground under Class III. of "The Public Reserves Act,
1881"; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall
be published in the New Zealand Gazette,
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land District,
containing 122 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 3658,
and formerly part of Reserve No. 1579, situated in
Block XVI.. Rangiora Survey District. Bounded towards
the north-west by a line in continuation of the north-
western boundary of Rural Section No. 9560 to a point dis-
tant about 20 chains from the sea-coast; thence southerly by
a line averaging about 20 chains distant and parallel to the
sea-coast to a point on the road reserved along the northern
bank of the River Waimakariri; thence westerly along the
said road to the Saltwater Creek; thence northerly along
the said creek to the commencing-point: as the same is
delineated upon the plan marked S.G. 49135, deposited in
the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wel-
lington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged
red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-fourth day of September, one thousand
nine hundred and three.

Block XVI., Takahue Survey District, and Block XIII.,
Maungataniwha Survey District, containing by admeasure-
ment 2,600 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north,
west, and again towards the north, by the Raetea Reserve
(permanently reserved in Gazette of 28th July, 1881, page 960),
16932, 5100, and 13500 links respectively; towards the east
generally by the Mangamuka West Block, 7190 links, and
by unadjudicated Native land, 4734 links; towards the south
by part of the southern boundary of Blocks XIII., Maunga-
taniwha Survey District, and XVI., Takahue Survey Dis-
trict, 32286 links; and towards the west generally by the
Mangonui-Hokianga Road, 12585 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan
marked S.G. 51164, deposited in the Head Office, Depart-
ment of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington
Land District, and thereon edged red. For growth and
preservation of timber.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-fourth day of September, one thou-
sand nine hundred and three.

Trustees for the Rahotu Public Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the sixth section of "The Cemeteries
Act, 1882," I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Edward Dougherty and
John Guy
to be Trustees, in the place of Harry Langman and Thomas
Alexander Bradley, resigned, to provide for the mainten-
ance and care of the Rahotu Public Cemetery, in conjunc-
tion with the other persons previously appointed by His
Excellency the Governor.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-fourth day of September, one thou-
sand nine hundred and three.
