Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said “Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1902,” doth hereby declare that the said meeting of ratepayers and the proceedings taken subsequent thereto shall be deemed and taken to be as valid to all intents and purposes as though the seven clear days’ notice had been given of the holding of the said ratepayers’ meeting in accordance with the provisions of the said Acts; and, further, that no proceedings taken in relation to the said meeting or subsequent thereon shall be deemed to be insufficient or irregular by reason only of the insufficiency or irregularity of the notice calling such meeting of ratepayers.

WHEREAS the Road Board of the District of Mauku lately proposed to raise a loan of seven hundred pounds for the purpose of making and metalling various roads within the said district: And whereas, in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” a poll of the ratepayers of the portion of the said district to be affected by the said proposal was taken at which the said proposal was carried: And whereas doubts have arisen as to the validity of the poll and notice thereof: And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled, and it is expedient to validate such poll and the proceedings taken prior to and in relation thereto:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said “Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” doth hereby declare that the said poll and notice of poll respectively shall be deemed and taken to be as valid to all intents and purposes as though the same were regular and in accordance with the provisions of the said Act; and, further, that no proceedings taken in relation to the said poll or consequent thereon shall be deemed to be insufficient or irregular by reason only of the informality of such notice of poll or poll respectively.

Vesting a Reserve in the Masterton County Council.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of September, 1903.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto has been permanently set aside as a gravel reserve: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Masterton County Council: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that from and after the day of the date hereof the reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in “The Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Masterton County,” in trust, for gravel purposes.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being Section No. 92, Block IX., Kopuaranga Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 93 of the said block; towards the east by a public road; towards the south by Section No. 77 of the said block; and towards the west by a public road: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Wellington.

Vesting a Reserve in the Waikopiro Institute.

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Waikopiro Institute:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Waikopiro Institute, in trust, for a site for a library and mechanics’ institute.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 54, Whetukura Village. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 53, 284·4 links; towards the east by Section No. 44, 92·7 links; towards the south-west by Section No. 55, 328·2 links; and towards the north-west by a public road, 81·7 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Napier.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by “The Fisheries Conservation Act, 1884” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, among other things, enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to time make, alter, and revoke regulations (which shall have force and effect only in any waters or places specified therein) providing for, among other things, the more effectual protection and improvement of “fish” as defined by the said Act, and for setting apart any river or other fresh or salt waters for the natural or artificial propagation of fish, and for prohibiting for any period fishing in any waters, river, or stream in which young fish or spawn have been placed or deposited:
And whereas it is expedient to make the regulations hereinafter set forth with respect to fish liberated, inhabiting, or found in the waters of the Orautaha Stream, in the County of Waimarino:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby make the regulations set forth in the Schedule hereto; and, with the like advice and consent, doth order that such regulations shall take effect on and after the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, and shall have force and effect in the Orautaha Stream, in the County of Waimarino.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATIONS.
- THE Orautaha Stream, a tributary of the Manganui-o-te-ao River, in the County of Waimarino (the said stream being a stream in which trout have been liberated), is hereby set apart for the natural or artificial propagation of fish.
