THE following special order, made by the West Winton
River Board, is published in accordance with the
provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WEST WINTON RIVER BOARD.
Special Order making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by “The River Boards Act, 1884,” the West Winton
River Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the
purpose of providing the interest at 3½ per cent. and
other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorised to be
raised by the West Winton River Board, under the pro-
visions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the
construction of drainage-works in the district, the said
West Winton River Board hereby makes and levies a special
rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable unimproved
valuation of all rateable property of the West Winton River
District, comprising Sections 1 to 7 and 30 to 37, Block I.,
East Winton, and Sections 1 to 3, eastern three-quarters of
Sections 4 to 10, Block VI., Sections 9 to 12, west half of
Sections 3 to 8, and west quarter of Section 13, Block I.,
and east half of Sections 15, 16, 21, 22, 27, 28, and 33,
Block VII., all of Winton Hundred; and that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
of such loan, and be payable at the Board’s office, Park
Street, Winton, to the Treasurer half-yearly on the 15th
day of January and the 15th day of July in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above was duly carried on the 8th August, 1903, and
confirmed as a special order on the 7th September, 1903,
and the seal of the Board affixed in the presence of—

THE following notice, received from the Tuhikaramea
Road Board, is published in accordance with the pro-
visions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” in substi-
tution for that previously gazetted on page 626 of New
Zealand Gazette, 1903.

TUHIKARAMEA ROAD BOARD.
RESULT of loan poll held in Schoolhouse, Tuhikaramea, on
13th July, 1903, for the purpose of deciding whether or not
the following loan shall be raised:—
It is the intention of the Tuhikaramea Road Board, under
“The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments,
1902, to borrow the sum of £200, which will be allocated as
follows: Erecting school bridge, £130; completing Rakahia
Swamp Road, £70. As security for payment of interest and
other charges on said loan a special rate will be made of
½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of the rateable
property in the Tuhikaramea Road District; said rate to be
an annual-recurring rate. The loan is for a period of
twenty-six years, and the interest (which will be paid
out of the general fund) will be at the rate of 4½ per cent.
per annum.
Votes recorded in favour of above proposal, 8; votes re-
corded against above proposal, 0.
The number of votes recorded in favour of the above pro-
posal being more than three-fifths of the total number of
votes recorded, I hereby declare the above proposal carried.

Proposed Loan No. 1.—Metalling Huia Road.
THE following is the result of the poll taken on Saturday,
the 22nd August, 1903, on a proposal to raise a loan, under
“The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” of £1,800 for the
purpose of metalling the Huia Road from the junction of
the Alfredton-Weber Road to the junction of the Waihoki
Road:—
Number of voters on special area, 39 (representing 41
votes): Number of votes in favour of the proposal, 20;
number of votes against the proposal, 9.
As the prescribed majority of votes required were recorded
in favour of the proposal, I hereby declare the proposal
carried.

Lakes, also to pay off the existing liabilities on lakes
drainage-works :—

roll, 39: Number of votes recorded in favour of the pro-
posal, 19; number of votes recorded against the proposal,
10; number of votes not recorded, 10.
As the prescribed majority of votes were recorded in
