A PPLICATION having been made to me to register a transfer by ALFRED TAPPER, formerly of Invercargill, Merchant, of his interest in mortgage No. 1859-1869, of Sections 3 and 4, Block XIV., Town of Wyndham, and evidence having been furnished of the loss of the outstanding duplicate of said mortgage, I hereby give notice of my intention to dispense with the production of the said duplicate mortgage and register the aforesaid transfer at the expiration of fourteen days from the date of publication hereof.

BOROUGH OF GREYMOUTH.

SPECIAL ORDER.

P UBLIC notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Council held on the 26th day of February, 1903, the following resolutions were duly passed, viz.:—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Acts, the Council of the Borough of Greymouth hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fifteen thousand pounds (£15,000) authorised to be raised by the Council of the Corporation of the Borough of Greymouth, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Acts, for—

Water-supply completion,
Street improvements completion,
Drainage, including tidal creek completion, and
Municipal buildings and furniture;

the said Council of the Corporation of the Borough of Greymouth hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Borough of Greymouth, comprising the whole of the rateable property within the boundaries of the Borough of Greymouth; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 31st day of March and the 30th day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of nine years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

And it is hereby further publicly notified that at a subsequent meeting of the Council called for the purpose of confirming the above resolutions, held at the Borough Council Chambers, Mackay Street, Greymouth, on Thursday, the 26th day of March, 1903, at 8 o’clock p.m., the above resolutions were read and confirmed.
