Lands temporarily reserved in the Canterbury Land District.

RANFURLY, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Canterbury Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section No. 3632 (in red), Block XIII., Tengawai Survey District (Chamberlain Settlement). Bounded towards the north-east by the Mackenzie Road, 333·3 links; and thence towards the south-east, south-west, and north-west by Section No. 1 of the above-mentioned block and survey district, 300, 333·3, and 300 links respectively: the north-eastern corner of the said Section No. 3632 (in red) being distant 5162·9 links north-westerly along the southern side of Mackenzie Road from the eastern corner of Section No. 1, Block I., Opawa Survey District. For a gravel reserve.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section No. 3633 (in red), Block I., Opawa Survey District (Chamberlain Settlement). Bounded towards the north by Section No. 3 of the above-mentioned block and survey district, 300 links; thence towards the east by said Section No. 3, 333·3 links; thence towards the south by Scott Road, 300 links; and thence towards the west by said Section No. 3, 333·3 links: the south-eastern corner of the said Section No. 3633 (in red) being distant 3500 links westerly along the northern side of Scott Road from the south-eastern corner of the said section No. 3. For a gravel reserve.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 21 perches, more or less, being Section No. 3634 (in red), Block II., Opawa Survey District (Chamberlain Settlement). Bounded towards the north-east and south-east by Section No. 3 of the above-mentioned block and survey district, 270 and 420 links respectively; thence towards the south-west by Fraser Road, 270 links; and thence towards the north-west by said Section No. 3, 420 links: the westernmost corner of the said Section No. 3634 (in red) being distant 386·3 links south-easterly along the northern side of Fraser Road from the westernmost corner of the said Section No. 3. For a gravel reserve.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section No. 3635 (in red), Block II., Opawa Survey District (Chamberlain Settlement). Bounded towards the south-west, north-west, and north-east by Section No. 7 of the above-mentioned block and survey district, 250, 400, and 250 links respectively; and thence towards the south-east by Rutherford Road, 400 links: the north-eastern corner of the said Section No. 3635 (in red) being distant 4846·8 links southerly along the western side of Rutherford Road from the north-ernmost corner of the said Section No. 7. For a gravel reserve.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section No. 3636 (in red), Block V., Opawa Survey District (Chamberlain Settlement). Bounded towards the south-west, north-west, and north-east by Section No. 2 of the above-mentioned block and survey district, 333·3, 300, and 333·3 links respectively; and thence towards the south-east by Blainslie Road, 300 links: the north-eastern corner of the said Section No. 3636 (in red) being distant 1112·9 links south-westerly along the northern side of Blainslie Road from the north-eastern corner of the said Section No. 2. For a gravel reserve.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section No. 3637 (in red), Block VI., Opawa Survey District (Chamberlain Settlement). Bounded towards the north-west by Wilfred Road, 247 links; thence towards the north-east by Section No. 4 of the above-mentioned block and survey district, 424·4 links; thence towards the south-east by the Opawa River; and towards the south-west by the said Section No. 4, 387 links: the northernmost corner of the said Section No. 3637 (in red) being distant 1260 links south-westerly along the southern side of Wilfred Road from a point on the said road where it is intersected by the north-eastern boundary of said Section No. 4. For a gravel reserve.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Section No. 3644 (in red), Block II., Opawa Survey District (Chamberlain Settlement). Bounded towards the north-west by Blainslie Road, 970·8 links; thence towards the north-east by Rutherford Road, 693·8 links; and thence towards the south east and south-west by Section No. 7 of the above-mentioned block and survey district, 641·4 and 600 links respectively. For a site for a public school.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same are delineated on the plan marked S.G. 18809, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 22 acres, more or less, being Allotment No. 21 of Section No. 9, Suburbs of Auckland, Waitemata Survey District, below high-water mark of the sea, described in section 4 of “The Reserves and other Lands Sale, Disposal, and Enabling and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1901.” Bounded towards the north, east, and south generally by high-water mark of Cox’s Creek; and towards the north-west by the road and bridge across the said Cox’s Creek: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 50175, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered red. For a recreation reserve.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.

Trustees for the Cust and West Eyreton Public Cemetery appointed.

RANFURLY, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

FREDRICK GEORGE HORRELL and
WILLIAM FREDRICK CONWAY

to be Trustees, in the place of Isaac Waiting and Adam Hunter, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Cust and West Eyreton Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons previously appointed by His Excellency the Governor.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three.
