Special Order made by the One-Tree Hill Road Board.

THE following special order, made by the One-Tree Hill Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

ONE-TREE HILL ROAD BOARD.
Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the One-Tree Hill Road Board resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,500, authorised to be raised by the One-Tree Hill Road Board under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for remaking about one mile and a quarter of Manukau Road from Auckland to Onehunga, the said One-Tree Hill Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¹⁄₂₀d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the One-Tree Hill Road District; and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” at a special meeting of the One-Tree Hill Road Board held on the 22nd day of January, 1903.

THE following special order, made by the Kiwitea County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

KIWITEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in them in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” the Kiwitea County Council do hereby resolve as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £350 authorised to be raised by the Kiwitea County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the construction of Whare Road and Signal Street, commencing from the end of the present metal, to the junction of the Ruaea Road and Signal Street, the said Kiwitea County Council do hereby make and levy a special rate of ³⁄₄d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Whare Special-rating District, comprising Sections 67, 52, 54, and 55, Block VII., Apiti Survey District; 21, 22, 23, part 24, 16, 17, 25, part 24, 26, 27, part 28, and part 28, 29, part 30, 61, 63, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, part 8, and part 8, 9, and 10, Block III., Apiti Survey District; 3, Block IV., Apiti Survey District; 11 and 2, Blocks III. and IV., Apiti Survey District; 14, 15, 18, 19, and 20, Block III., Apiti Survey District; 16, 17, 18, 21, Block IV., Apiti Survey District; part 69, containing 1,000 acres, Block III., Apiti Survey District; 39, 40, 41, 42, and 43, Village of Marshall; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The resolution to make this special order was adopted at a special meeting of the Council held on the 20th day of December, 1902, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 17th day of January, 1903.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Lethbridge Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

LETHBRIDGE TOWN BOARD.

I HEREBY give notice that the following is the result of the poll of electors taken on the 24th day of January, 1903, upon a proposal of the Lethbridge Town Board, already advertised in the Hangitikei Advocate, to borrow the sum of £200, to be applied for the construction of a bridge over the Kahaurau-ponga Stream, on the Main Trunk Road, within the Lethbridge Town District:—

Number of electors who voted in favour of proposal, 22; number of electors who voted against proposal, 2.

I do therefore hereby declare the said proposal carried.

BOROUGH OF NORTH INVERCARGILL.
Special Loan, £1,300.

I HEREBY give notice that at the poll taken on Wednesday, the 21st day of January, 1903, on the proposal of the North Invercargill Borough Council to raise by way of loan the sum of £1,300 for the purpose of carrying out certain public works, the following votes were recorded:—

For the proposal, 62; against the proposal, 48; informal, 1: majority in favour of the proposal, 14.

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Notice as to Day for closing under “The Shops and Shop-assistants Act, 1894.”

NOTICE is hereby given that, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by “The Shops and Shop-assistants Act, 1894,” and of all other powers and authorities me hereto enabling, and in terms of notice in writing duly received by me from the Chairman of the Conference of Delegates of all the local authorities comprised in the district constituted for the purposes of that Act by the Boroughs of the City of Wellington, Melrose, Onslow, and Karori, and the Township of Johnsonville (being all the boroughs or town districts any part of which is situate within a mile of any part of another), I, Richard John Seddon, Minister of Labour, hereby appoint Wednesday to be the day on which all shops in the said district shall be closed as provided by that Act.

Dated this 28th day of January, 1903.
