Act, 1901,” and amendments thereof, for the establishment of public abattoirs, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound sterling upon the annual rateable valuation of all rateable property within the Borough of Gisborne, as defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the 14th May, 1877, folio 526; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off; the rate of interest on such loan being 3½ per cent. per annum. And it is further resolved, That the interest upon the loan shall be paid out of the charges, rents, and tolls accruing from such public abattoirs, and in that case the special rate will not be collected except to make good any deficiency that may occur through the revenue from such abattoirs being insufficient to meet the interest and lawful charges upon the loan.
Passed at a special meeting of the said Borough Council of Gisborne on 9th December, 1902, and confirmed at a meeting held on 6th January, 1903.

Special Order.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in them in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” the Kiwitea County Council do hereby resolve as follows: That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £750, authorised to be raised by the Kiwitea County Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the construction of Auputa Road from junction with the Kawhatau Road to the junction with the Pourangaki Road, and the Pourangaki Road from junction with the Auputa Road to Section 3, Block IX., Ruahine Survey District, the said Kiwitea County Council do hereby make and levy a special rate of 1³⁄₁₀d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Pourangaki Special-rating District, comprising sections Otamakapua, Block XII., Hautapu Survey District; 21, Block XII., Hautapu Survey District; 7, 1, 2, and 3, Ruahine Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Special Order striking Special Rate.
RESOLVED, That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £200, authorised to be raised by the Taruheru Road Board under provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for forming and metalling Childers Road from Lytton Road to Poverty Bay Park Company’s grounds, the said Board do hereby make and levy a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuations of all rateable property of the said special district, comprising the lands scheduled hereunder, and shown in plan; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st days of January and July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

A SPECIAL order made by the Cook County Council on Wednesday, the 26th November, 1902, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting on the 16th January, 1903:—
Resolved, That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in them in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Cook County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,500, authorised to be raised by the Cook County Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of “erecting a cart-bridge across the Uawa River, on the line of the Main Coast Road,” the said Cook County Council do hereby make and levy a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Tologa Bridge Loan District, comprising all the lands within the following boundaries: Commencing at a point on the coast-line known as Koangaumu, or a point where the boundary-line of the Counties of Cook and Waiapu meet on the coast; thence southerly by the coast-line to a point where the south-west boundary of Paremata No. 2 Block, produced through Trig. Station 159, would strike the coast; thence north-westerly by the said line to the south-eastern corner of Paremata No. 3; thence by the southern boundary of the said block to the intersection of the eastern boundary of Paremata No. 1B; thence northerly by the eastern boundary of Paremata No. 1B to public road; thence westerly by said road to the eastern boundary of Paremata D; thence northerly by the eastern boundary of Paremata D; thence westerly by the northern boundaries of Paremata D and E; thence northerly by the eastern boundary of Paremata No. 1C to the Patiki Stream; thence by the said stream to the Mangaheia River; thence by the southern bank of the said river to the eastern bank of the Uawa River; thence northerly by the Uawa River to Totaratapu; thence easterly by the boundary between Cook and Waiapu Counties to the starting-point: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be 3½ per cent. per annum.
