Proclaiming Native Township of Otorohanga.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section eight of “The Native and Maori Land Laws Amendment Act, 1902,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Proclamation published in the Gazette and Kahiti, declare that any parcel or parcels of Maori land, whether or not such parcels form portions of several blocks, and whether or not such parcels are held by the owners under separate titles, shall be vested in the Council as a site for a Native township, and shall by the same Proclamation assign a name to such township: And whereas it is expedient that the land described in the Schedule hereto should be vested in the Council hereinafter mentioned for the purposes of the said recited Act:

Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred upon me as aforesaid, do hereby declare that the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto shall be vested in the Maniapoto Tuwharetoa District Maori Land Council as a site for a Native township, and do hereby assign the name of “Otorohanga” to such township.

SCHEDULE.
OTOROHANGA TOWNSHIP.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in Block IV., Orahiri Survey District, being Otorohanga D, G No. 2, H, and J; Waikowhitiwhiti Nos. 2 and 3; Waikowhitiwhiti A, B, C, D, E, F, F1, F2, G, K1, K2, L, and M; Orahiri A, B, C, D1, D2, E, F, G, J, K, L, M, N, N1, O, P, Q, R, S No. 5, T, U, U1, V, V1, V2 Section 2, V2 Section 1, W, W1, W2; Orahiri No. 1, Sections 2 to 12; Orahiri No. 10 Blocks; and 18 acres of roads of access laid off by order of the Court: containing by admeasurement 243 acres and 13 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by Otorohanga E No. 5; Section 8, Block IV., Orahiri Survey District; Otorohanga C, a public road, and Otorohanga C aforesaid, 1880, 1273, 450, 450, and 609 links: towards the south-east, south-west, north-east, and north-west by the Main Trunk Railway, Otorohanga Railway-station, 130, 264, 74, 200, 2500, 500, and 724 links: generally towards the south and west by the Waipa River: and towards the north-west by the Otorohanga E No. 2 Block, 1010 links: save and excepting Main Trunk Railway, Waikowhitiwhiti No. 1, and Otorohanga G No. 1 Blocks, which are excluded from the above area; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and three.

TE KUITI TOWNSHIP.

ALL that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks III. and IV., Otanake Survey District, being portion of Pukenui No. 2D, portion of Pukenui 2D No. 6, portion of Pukenui No. D No. 5, portion of No. 2T, and Pukenui No. 2Q, No. 2D No. 1 and No. 2D No. 2, and Pukenui No. 2A Nos. 1 to 19 inclusive, and 5 acres 2 roods 34 perches of roads, laid off by the Court, giving access to Pukenui No. 2A Subdivisions, containing by admeasurement 238 acres 1 rood 19 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east generally by the Mangaokewa Stream; towards the south-east by a line across the railway, Pukenui V., other portions of Pukenui No. D No. 5, Pukenui No. 2D, Pukenui 2D No. 6, 380 and 4000 links; towards the south-west by the other portions Pukenui No. 2D and No. 2T, 4500 links; and towards the north-west by the other portion of Pukenui No. 2T, a line across railway, and road to the Mangaokewa Stream, 4000, 100, and 1500 links: save and excepting Main Trunk Railway and the Te Kuiti Railway-station, which is excluded from the above area: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the owners and lessees of the land hereinafter mentioned, and of the mortgagees of the land, and with the consent of the Waitotara-Momohaki Road Board, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, do by this notice hereby proclaim as taken for a road the land in the Wairoa Survey District hereinafter described, that is to say, —
