BOROUGH OF TEMUKA.
Copy of special order, made on the 18th day of February, 1903, at a special meeting of the Temuka Borough Council, and confirmed at a subsequent special meeting of the Council on the 25th day of March, 1903, authorising the raising of a special loan of £400 for the purpose of connecting the house-drains with the sewers, as recommended by the Chief Health Officer, and approved by the Minister of Public Health:—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Public Health Act, 1900,” and “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” the Temuka Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, in order to facilitate the construction of the work of laying house-drains and connecting the same with the sewers established under the water-supply and drainage scheme for part of the borough sanctioned by the poll of electors held on the 1st day of August, 1901, and the construction of which work has been recommended by the Chief Health Officer and approved by the Minister of Public Health, the Council borrow the sum of £400 for a period of twenty-six years, bearing interest at the rate of £4 10s. per centum per annum, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”
I, Edward Cutten, Town Clerk of the Borough of Temuka, do hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the special order, and in evidence thereof I have hereunto set the common seal of the borough, this 16th day of May, 1903.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Public Health Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Temuka Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £400, authorised to be raised by the Temuka Borough Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the laying of house-drains and connecting the same with the sewers established under the water-supply and drainage scheme for part of the borough sanctioned by the poll of electors held on the 1st day of August, 1901, the said Temuka Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/10d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Borough of Temuka lying within the boundaries of that portion of the borough affected by the said water-supply and drainage scheme; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable in one sum on the 1st day of July in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the amendments thereof respectively, the Marton Borough Council doth hereby resolve as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £1,700, for a term of forty-one years, interest payable at the rate of 3½ per centum per annum, authorised to be raised by the Marton Borough Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of the construction of a main drain in the Borough of Marton, the said Council of the Borough of Marton hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1¾d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Borough of Marton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I, Sidney Skerman, Mayor of the Borough of Marton, do hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Marton Borough Council held on the 20th day of April, 1903, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Marton Borough Council held on the 19th day of May, 1903. In testimony whereof the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Marton has been hereunto affixed.

WAITEMATA COUNTY.
Declaration of Poll.
Proposal to borrow £6,000 from the Colonial Treasurer for the purposes of a water-supply for the inhabitants of the Northcote Water-supply District, on which a poll was taken on the 22nd day of July, 1903.
The result of the aforesaid poll having been ascertained, I hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 98 votes; against the proposal, 70 votes; informal, 2.
And I hereby declare that, in view of the total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being less than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded at the poll, the resolution in favour of such proposal was lost.
