Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in the Boundaries of the City of Christchurch.
Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, 24th July, 1903.
PURSUANT to section 176 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the Heathcote Road District and included in the City of Christchurch, and be added to the Sydenham Ward of the said city.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice.
Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Colonial Secretary, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
LAND PROPOSED TO BE ADDED TO THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, situated in Block XV., Christchurch Survey District, bounded towards the north by the north side of Tennyson Street, from the western side of Colombo Road to the Heathcote River; thence by a line in continuation of the north side of Tennyson Street to the right bank of the Heathcote River; thence towards the east by the right bank of the Heathcote River to a point in line with the southern side of the road forming the northern boundary of Rural Section No. 21 of the said Block XV.; thence towards the south by a right line to the southern side of the said road; thence by the southern side of that road and its production to the right bank of the Heathcote River; and thence towards the south-west and south-east by the right bank of the Heathcote River to the western side of Colombo Road; and thence towards the west by the western side of the said Colombo Road to the place of commencement.

Notice to Mariners No. 51 of 1903.
MAN-OF-WAR ANCHORAGE-GROUND, AUCKLAND HARBOUR.

Wellington, N.Z., 27th July, 1903.
NOTICE is hereby given that the anchorage-ground for vessels belonging to the British Navy is defined as under:—
All that portion of the anchorage-ground in Auckland Harbour commencing at a point 425 yards north of the western extreme of the Queen Street Wharf (the centre of the Customhouse being in transit bearing south); thence by a line running north for 600 yards; thence by a line running east for 1,200 yards; thence by a line running south for 600 yards; thence by a line running west for 1,200 yards to point of commencement.
Notice to Mariners No. 16 of 1891, issued by this Department on the 29th April, 1891, is cancelled.
Charts, &c., affected: Admiralty Chart No. 1970; “New Zealand Pilot,” 7th edition, Chapter ii., page 52.

Notice of Intention to incorporate the Tapanui District Hospital as a Separate Institution.
Charitable Department,
Wellington, 7th July, 1903.
HIS Excellency the Governor in Council directs it to be notified, in terms of section 43 of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885,” that he has received a petition from not less than fifty subscribers to the Tapanui District Hospital, praying that the said hospital may be incorporated as a separate institution; and that if no counter-petition signed by an equal or greater number of subscribers shall have been delivered at the office of the Colonial Secretary within one month after the publication of this notice, or if the District Board shall not have lodged with the Colonial Secretary within the same time an objection to such petition, the Governor in Council will declare the said hospital to be a separate institution under the said Act.

Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Remuera Road Board District.—Notice No. 795.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Remuera Road Board has by special order declared Bathurst burr, broom, giant burdock, gorse, hakea, and ragwort or ragweed to be noxious weeds within the meaning of “The Noxious Weeds Act, 1900,” in the district under its jurisdiction.
