Rural Lands in the Wellington Land District open for Sale or Selection.
RANFURLY, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of "The Land Act, 1892," I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the sixteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and three; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1892."

Grouped as one allotment, and weighted with ยฃ364 6s. 6d. for improvements.
This allotment is situated between Hale's Track and Wangaehu Valley Road, the access being from Mangamahu, which is about eighteen miles distant via the latter road, which is formed for dray traffic to a point opposite Section No. 73. The remaining distance is by unformed road. The lot comprises hilly and undulating country with small flats. The soil is of good quality, resting on papa formation. There is about 3 acres of forest on Section No. 72, and about 8 acres on Section No. 73, comprising matai, white-pine, maire, &c., with usual undergrowth. Both sections are well watered by small streams. The elevation ranges from about 1,600 ft. to 1,800 ft. above sea-level. The improvements on Section No. 72 comprise 97 acres felled and grassed ; 58 chains of fencing; slab whare, 18 ft. by 12 ft., shingle roof, no floor, in bad repair; shingle shed, 10 ft. by 8 ft., also in bad repair. On Section No. 73 they comprise about 92 acres felled and grassed; about 22 chains of fencing; slab whare, 9 ft. by 13 ft., in bad repair. "Thirds" on Section 72 will accrue for a period of ten years and a half, and on Section 73 for six years and a half.

Land temporarily reserved in the Taranaki Land District.
RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of "The Land Act, 1892," it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Taranaki Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres and 33 perches, more or less, being Section No. 4, Town Belt, Pukearuhe Township. Bounded towards the north-east by Page Street, 358.2 links; thence towards the south-east by a public road, 1193.7 links; thence towards the south-west by Boyd Street, 240.3 links; and thence towards the north-west by a public road, 1040.7 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 50779, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered red. For a site for a public school.

Second-class Land.
Blocks XII., XVI., Momohaki Survey District; Blocks IX., X., XIII., XIV., Tauakira Survey District; Blocks I., II., Waipakura Survey District: Area, 29,608 acres. Cash price, 15s. to ยฃ1 per acre. Occupation with right of purchase-rent per acre per annum, 9d. to ls.; lease in perpetuity-rent per acre per annum, 7.2d. to 9.6d.
These blocks are situated on the right bank of the Wanganui River, nearly opposite Athens, which is about thirty miles from Wanganui, from which there is access by steamer, and from landing-places by proposed roads only. Access
