Special Order made by the Council of the County of Masterton.

THE following special order, made by the Masterton County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

MASTERTON COUNTY.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Masterton County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest, at the rate of £3 10s. per centum per annum, and other charges on a loan of £300, authorised to be raised by the Masterton County Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for formation and metalling on that section of the Masterton–Gladstone Road lying between the Te Whiti Bridge and Pike’s boundary gate, the said Masterton County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all the rateable property of the Masterton–Gladstone Road Formation and Metalling Loan Special-rating District, comprised within the following boundaries, that is to say: Commencing at the point of confluence of the Te Awa-o-punanga Stream with the Wangaehu River in Block V., Otahoua Survey District, and proceeding in a south-easterly direction, bounded by the said Te Awa-o-punanga Stream and the Ahimanu Stream to the western boundary of the Motuhaku Block; thence by the western, northern, and eastern boundaries of the Motuhaku Block to the Taueru River; thence proceeding southwards by the Taueru River to its confluence with the Ruamahanga River; by the said Ruamahanga River to its confluence with the Wangaehu River; and by the said Wangaehu River to the point of commencement: and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Passed at a special meeting of the Council, this 6th day of November, 1902; confirmed this 11th day of December, 1902.

THE following special order, made by the Cook County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.
SPECIAL ORDER made by the Cook County Council on the 23rd February, 1903, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 15th May, 1903:—
“Resolved, That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in them in that behalf by ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ the Cook County Council do hereby resolve as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £600, authorised to be raised by the Cook County Council under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ for the purpose of purchasing the land required for a road through Puhatikotiko Block, and the construction of that road to connect with the road lately acquired by the Cook County Council in the Poututu A Block, the said Cook County Council do hereby make and levy a special rate of ¾d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property comprised in the Motu Special-rating District as defined in the Schedule hereto; such special rate to be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off; the rate of interest to be 3½ per cent.

“Motu Special-rating District.—Description of Boundaries.
“Starting from a point on the Motu River at the junction with the Kaitawa Stream; thence by said stream to south-east corner of Section 12, Block III., Motu; thence by a line south-easterly to junction with the Rangariri Stream at south-east corner of Section 3, Block VII., Motu; thence by said stream in a south-westerly and south-easterly direction to north-west boundary of Section 13, Run 61; thence by a line north-easterly to Trig. Pc; thence by a line south-easterly to Poupouaha; thence by a line south-easterly to Trig. 3; thence by lines north-easterly and easterly to the junction with the Urukokomoko Stream at the north-west boundary of Manukawhitikitiki No. 2; thence by lines in a south-easterly direction to junction with the Wheao Stream; thence in a south-westerly direction by said stream to north-west corner of Puhatikotiko No. 6B; thence by a line in a south-westerly direction to Trig. Pd; thence by a line in a south-westerly direction to junction with the Waikohu Stream; thence by said stream in a westerly direction to the north-east corner of B, Waikohu-Matawai No. 1 Block; thence by the south-east and south-west boundaries of said block to junction with south-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block XVI., Ngatapa; thence by south-western boundary of said section to a road-line on south-east boundary of Section 6, Block XVI., Ngatapa; thence to south-west corner of said section; thence in a north-westerly direction by a line to north-east corner of Section 6, Block XI., Motu; thence in a westerly direction to south-east corner of Section 5, Block XI., Motu; thence in a northerly direction by the eastern boundary of Sections 5, 4, 7, 8, Block XI., Motu, and by 6, 7, 8, 9, 5, Block VII., Motu; thence to north corner of Section 1, Block VII., Motu; thence in a south-westerly direction to intersection with the Motu River; thence generally in a northerly direction to the starting-point at the junction with Kaitawa Stream.”

San Francisco Bay, Oakland Harbour, San Antonio Creek.
TEMPORARY LIGHT ESTABLISHED.—Notice has been given by the Lighthouse Inspector of the 12th District that on and after 10th June, 1903, a fixed white lens-lantern light would be exhibited each night from the top of the structure now building at the entrance to San Antonio Creek, Oakland Harbour, San Francisco Bay, California.
This temporary light will be shown in addition to the present fixed white light at Oakland Harbour Light-station, and will be discontinued upon the completion of the new station. It will be elevated about 44 ft. above the level of the sea, and illuminate the entire horizon. (N.M. 25, 1903.) (Notice to Mariners, U.S. Lighthouse Inspector, 12th District, 9th June, 1903.)

San Francisco Bay.
BLOSSOM ROCK GAS BUOY TO BE REMOVED: TEMPORARY LIGHTS TO BE ESTABLISHED.—Notice is given that, on or about 1st July, 1903, Blossom Rock gas buoy, San Francisco Bay, California, will be taken up, owing to the work of removing the rock.
During the progress of the work two or more white lantern lights will be exhibited each night from a barge moored over the rock, the lights elevated about 8 ft. above the water.
