the time being in force, for the purpose of providing interest and sinking fund upon a further loan of £250, being at the rate of 10 per cent. upon the loan already granted and authorised by the ratepayers of the Geraldine Town District (section 68, ‘Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901’) for the further construction of waterworks, and all works incidental thereto; and that the rate be payable annually on the 1st day of February in each year, extending over a period of twenty-six years as and being the period of the said loan, or until the loan is fully paid off; and that the rate of interest be at the rate of 4½ per centum per annum; and that a special meeting be held on the 14th November, 1902, to confirm the said resolution.”
Read and confirmed at an adjourned special meeting of the Board on 6th December, 1902.

A special meeting of the members of the Eyreton Road Board was held at the Eyreton Road Board Office, Ohoka, at 2 p.m. on Monday, 5th January, 1903, when the above special order was duly confirmed.

THE following special order, made by the Stratford Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

SPECIAL ORDER MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” the Council of the Borough of Stratford hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £300, authorised to be raised by the Stratford Borough Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for drainage purposes, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¹⁄₁₀d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property in the Borough of Stratford, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly, on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Stratford Borough Council held on the 9th day of December, 1902, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 13th day of January, 1903.

SPECIAL ORDER MADE BY THE MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL, READJUSTING THE TE WHITI BRIDGE LOAN.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Masterton County Council, by special order, resolves as follows: That the loan of £1,346 17s. 10d., raised by the late Masterton Road Board and the Taratahi-Carterton Road Board conjointly, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1886,” and known as the Te Whiti Bridge Loan, be and the same is hereby readjusted under paragraph (c) of subsection (1) of section 59 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901”; and such readjustment shall take effect on and from the 1st day of February, 1903.
Passed at a special meeting of the Council this 11th day of December, 1902; confirmed this 10th day of January, 1903.

RESULT of poll taken on the 14th day of January, 1903, at the Borough Council Chambers, Broadway, Stratford, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £2,000, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” at £3 10s. per centum per annum for forty-one years, for the purpose of constructing a septic tank, acquiring site for same, and of completing drainage-works for the borough:—
Number of votes given for the proposal, 40; number of votes given against the proposal, 20; number of informal votes, 1.
A majority of votes having been given in favour of the above proposal, I hereby declare it to be carried.
