Proclaiming Grey River, in the Land Districts of Nelson
and Westland, together with its Tributaries, to be Water-
courses for the Deposit of Tailings.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and eight of “The
Mining Act, 1898,” as amended by section twenty-
two of “The Mining Act Amendment Act, 1899” (herein-
after termed “the said Acts”), it is enacted that on applica-
tion in that behalf the Governor may from time to time, by
Proclamation, constitute and set apart the whole or any
part of any watercourse to be a watercourse into which may
be discharged any tailings, débris, and waste water produced
by or resulting from mining operations carried on under
the said Acts, and in which or on the banks of which mining
operations may be lawfully carried on :
And whereas such application as aforesaid in respect of
the watercourses described in the Schedule hereto was duly
notified and gazetted, as provided by the said Acts, on the
date set out in the description of such watercourses in the
said Schedule :
And whereas His Excellency the Governor has decided to
exercise the powers conferred upon him by the said Acts :
Now, therefore, His Excellency Uchter John Mark, Earl
of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Acts, doth
hereby constitute and set apart the watercourses described
in the Schedule hereto to be watercourses into which may
be discharged any tailings, débris, and waste waters pro-
duced by or resulting from mining operations carried on
under the said Acts, and in which or on the banks of which
mining operations may be lawfully carried on ; and doth
hereby further prescribe that this Proclamation shall take
effect on and after the second day of March, one thousand
nine hundred and three.

SCHEDULE.

LAND DISTRICTS OF NELSON AND WESTLAND.

That river known as the Grey River, which flows westerly
for a distance of about thirty miles from its source in the
Southern Alps to the Township of Dobson, together with
the tributaries thereof, excepting Otutu or Rough River,
also excepting that part of the Ahaura River, with its tri-
butaries, above Granite or Randall Creek. Date of ga-
zetting of notice, 5th September, 1901.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly ;
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished
Order of Saint Michael and Saint George ;
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over
His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its
Dependencies ; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
lington, this fifteenth day of January, in the
year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and
three.

Redefining a Riding in the County of Patangata.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the thirteenth
day of November, one thousand nine hundred,
made under “The Counties Act 1886 Amendment Act,
1895,” and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
twenty-second day of November, one thousand nine hun-
dred, the boundaries of the Counties of Waipawa and
Patangata were altered, and a certain area thereby added to
the County of Patangata :
And whereas it is expedient to include the area so added
to the County of Patangata in the Porangahau Riding of the
said county :
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of
the powers vested in me by “The Counties Act, 1886,” do
hereby proclaim and declare that the abovementioned area
so added to the County of Patangata shall be included in
the Porangahau Riding of that county, and that the bound-
aries of the said riding shall be those described in the
Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

PORANGAHAU RIDING.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, in the
County of Patangata, bounded towards the north-west gene-
rally by the Waipawa County, as described in the New
Zealand Gazette No. 96, 22nd November, 1900, from the
north-western corner of Block X., Weber Survey District,
to the Tangaruhe Stream ; thence towards the north gene-
rally by the Wallingford Road District, as described in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 42, 18th May, 1883, to the sea at
the mouth of the Porangahau River ; thence towards the
east generally by the sea to the north-eastern boundary of
Weber County ; and thence towards the west and south-
west generally by the Weber County, as described in the
Schedule to “The Weber County Act, 1902,” to the place of
commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter
John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do by this notice hereby proclaim as closed
the road in the Waitapu Survey District hereinafter de-
scribed, that is to say,—

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by
section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter
John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, with the consents of the owners of the
lands hereinafter mentioned, and with the consent of the
Collingwood County Council, being the local authority in
whose district the said lands are situated, do by this
notice hereby proclaim as a road the lands mentioned in
the Schedule hereto.
