several dates mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be the
respective dates for taking the several steps set out in the
said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
- Time for which the defaulters list and the rolls for ridings
within the County of Ashburton shall be open for inspection: From the 10th June, 1903, to the 24th June, 1903. - Time for appeals against the said rolls: Until the 30th
June, 1903. - Revision Courts may sit for hearing applications with
reference to the said rolls, and adjourn: Until the 20th
July, 1903. - Time when the said rolls, having been duly corrected
and signed, shall come into force: On the 1st August, 1903.

Trustee for the Hinds Public Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries
Act, 1882,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
MAITLAND GORDON RICH
to be a Trustee, in the place of John Studholme, resigned, to
provide for the maintenance and care of the Hinds Public
Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons previously
appointed by His Excellency the Governor.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this sixteenth day of June, one thousand nine
hundred and three.

Rural Lands in the Taranaki Land District open for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section
of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that
the rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twelfth day of
August, one thousand nine hundred and three; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option
of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or,
in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in
perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned
in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the
provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Road: the Okoke Road is formed for dray traffic, and the Kaka Road is a 5-ft. bridle-road for four miles, the remainder
being surveyed road only; the Uruti Road is formed for three miles as a dray-road, the remainder is in course of formation as a bridle-road. The land is fair to good pastoral country, wholly covered with forest consisting of rata, rimu,
kahikatea, &c., and usual undergrowth; the soil is good, on well-watered papa formation. | | | | | | | | | | |

Access by Okoke Road, which is a dray-road for about seven miles, thence by an indifferent bridle-road. When the
Kaka is formed it will be found a better access. Fair to good pastoral country; all forest, except small clearing above

and light in valleys, consisting of rata, rimu, kahikatea, &c., with dense undergrowth of karewa, mahoe, &c.; the soil is
