Powers delegated to the Ekatahuna Domain Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of June, 1903.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby revoke a certain Order in Council, dated the twentieth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, making delegation of certain powers in manner as therein appears; and doth hereby, with the like advice and consent, and in respect of the land hereinafter mentioned, delegate all the powers conferred by the said Act, except the powers conferred by sections five and twelve thereof, for the period of ten years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), to the undermentioned persons, who shall be known as the Ekatahuna Domain Board, namely,—
FRANCIS CALISAN TURNOR, Ekatahuna, Farmer;
FRANK DEERING PELLING, Ekatahuna, Hotelkeeper;
ERNEST OTTO FRIEDRICH VON REDEN, Ekatahuna, Sheep-farmer;
ALFRED HENRY HERBERT, Ekatahuna, Storekeeper; and
ARTHUR HENRY VILE, Ekatahuna, Sheep-farmer
(herein referred to as “the Board”), subject to the stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the last Saturday in each month, at three o’clock p.m., at Pelling’s Hall, Ekatahuna, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Saturday, the twenty-fifth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and three.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or by any two members of the Board, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the last Saturday in January in every succeeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

The Board shall prepare and submit at each annual meeting a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of December, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the members may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chairman.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
And with the like advice and consent as aforesaid doth hereby also order that this delegation shall take effect in respect of the parcel of Crown lands described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 3 roods 19 perches, more or less, being Section No. 40L, Block VI., Mangaone Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 39; towards the east by Section No. 40c (Cottage-hospital Reserve); towards the south by a public road; and towards the west by Section No. 40 (Cemetery Reserve): as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of June, 1903.

THE HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for public recreation in the Taranaki Land District, described in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881”; and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section No. 2, Block II., Ngatimaru Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 8, Block I., Ngatimaru Survey District, and by Willow Terrace; towards the south-east by Silk Road; towards the south-west by Purangi Terrace; and towards the north-west by Ngatoto Road: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth.

Excepting Land from the Operation of Section 117 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of June, 1903.

THE HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section four of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Order in Council, except from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), for a limited period or otherwise, and either generally or for such purposes and subject to such restrictions as shall be in such Order specified, any land, wheresoever situate, which is for the time being subject to the operation of the said section, or any interest therein or right over the same, or may in like manner make such exception in favour exclusively of any lessee or other person who has been bona fide in occupation of and has made improvements on such land, or has paid money to Native owners for lease or purchase thereof, prior to the passing of the said Act: Provided that no Order in Council under the provisions of this section shall take effect until after the expiration of two months from the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette: Provided also that every alienation under the provisions of this section shall be confirmed by the Court in terms of section fifty-three of the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section four of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby except from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,”
