And whereas, as required by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” a map has been prepared showing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and such map is hereto attached:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and “The Public Works Acts Amendment Act, 1900,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the land shown upon the said map and described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said Native school, and shall vest in His Majesty the King, as from the fifteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and three.

Alterations in Ridings and Representation, County of Oroua.

RANFURLY, Governor.
WHEREAS by “The Kairanga County Act, 1901,” a portion of the County of Oroua was included within the boundaries of the new County of Kairanga, and it is expedient to alter and redefine the ridings of the said County of Oroua, and to fix the number of Councillors to be elected for each of such ridings:
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Counties Act, 1886,” do hereby declare that the County of Oroua shall be divided into seven ridings, to be called the Mangaone Riding, the Rangitawa Riding, the Raumanga Riding, the Makino Riding, the Taonui Riding, the Otangaki Riding, and the Hiwinui Riding, and that the boundaries of the said ridings shall be those described in the Schedule hereto; and, further, that the number of Councillors to be elected for such ridings shall be as follows: One Councillor for each riding.

SCHEDULE.
MANGAONE RIDING.
ALL that area in the County of Oroua, in the Wellington Land District, bounded towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 37, 38, 39, 40, and 41, Block IX., Oroua Survey District, and the north-eastern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, and 49, Block X.: thence towards the south-east by the south-eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section to its southernmost corner; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 1, Block X. aforesaid; thence by the south-eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 1 to its south-eastern corner: thence towards the south by Sections Nos. 184, 130, 129, and 125, Block XIV., and Sections Nos. 124, 119, and 118, Block IX., Oroua Survey District: and thence towards the north-west by the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 50, 51, 52, and 53, Block IX. aforesaid, to the place of commencement.
RANGITAWA RIDING.
All that area in the County of Oroua, in the Wellington Land District, bounded towards the north-east by a right line from a point in the middle of the Rangitikei River in line with the north-eastern side of the road known as Gillett's Line to the north-eastern side of that road; thence by the north-eastern side of the said Gillett's Road-line to the Mangaone Road; thence across the Mangaone Road, and by the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 53, Block IX., Oroua Survey District, and its production to the northernmost corner of Section No. 37, Block IX. aforesaid: thence towards the south-east by Mangaone Riding hereinbefore described to the south-western corner of Section No. 18, Block IX., Oroua Survey District: thence towards the south by a right line across a road, by Section No. 112, Block IX. aforesaid, Section No. 111, Block XII., Rangitoto Survey District, across a road, and by Section No. 101 to its north-western corner; thence by the southern boundary-line of Section No. 144, Block XII. aforesaid, and its production to the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 99; thence by the south-eastern and southern boundary-lines of the said Section No. 99 and the last-mentioned boundary-line produced to the middle of the Rangitikei River: and thence towards the west generally by a line along the middle of the Rangitikei River to the place of commencement.
RAUMANGA RIDING.
All that area in the County of Oroua, in the Wellington Land District, bounded towards the north and north-east by the Kiwitea County, as described in the Schedule to “The Kiwitea County Act, 1893,” from the middle of the Rangitikei River to a point bearing 34° (magnetic) from the northernmost corner of the Mangaone Riding hereinbefore described; thence towards the south-east by a right line to the northernmost corner of the Mangaone Riding; thence towards the south-west by the Rangitawa Riding hereinbefore described to the middle of the Rangitikei River; and thence towards the west generally by a line along the middle of the Rangitikei River to the place of commencement.
MAKINO RIDING.
All that area in the County of Oroua, in the Wellington Land District, bounded towards the north-east by the Kiwitea County, as described in the Schedule to “The Kiwitea County Act, 1893,” from the easternmost corner of the Raumanga Riding to the Oroua River; thence towards the south-east generally by the Oroua River to the Borough of Feilding; thence towards the west, south-west, and south generally by the Borough of Feilding, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 25, 27th March, 1902, to Section No. 130, Block XIV., Oroua Survey District; thence again towards the west by the said Section No. 130 to its north-eastern corner; thence again towards the north-east, towards the north-west, and again towards the south-west by Mangaone Riding hereinbefore described to its northernmost corner; and thence again towards the north-west by the Raumanga Riding hereinbefore described to the place of commencement.
TAONUI RIDING.
All that area in the County of Oroua, in the Wellington Land District, bounded towards the north-west generally by the right bank of the Oroua River from the southernmost corner of the Borough of Feilding to the south-western boundary of the Kiwitea County; thence towards the north-east by a right line across the Oroua River and by the Pohangina County, as described in the Schedule to “The Pohangina County Act, 1894,” to a point due north (magnetic) from the easternmost corner of Section No. 508, Block VII., Kairanga Survey District; thence towards the east by a right line to the easternmost corner of the said Section No. 508; thence towards the south-west by the Kairanga County, as described in the Schedule to “The Kairanga County Act, 1901,” to the Oroua River, and thence by a right line to the southernmost corner of the Borough of Feilding, the place of commencement.
OTANGAKI RIDING.
All that area in the County of Oroua, in the Wellington Land District, bounded towards the north generally by Section No. 9, Block I., Gorge Survey District, and the production of its southern boundary-line to the eastern side of the Pohangina Road; thence by the eastern side of that road to Grammer's Road; thence by the northern side of Grammer's Road to the Pohangina River: thence towards the east generally by the Pohangina River to its confluence with the Manawatu River; thence by the Manawatu River to the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 13, Subdivision P of the Township of Ashhurst: thence towards the south-west by the south-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 13, 6, 7, 8, and 10, Subdivision P aforesaid, and the production of the south-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section to the north-western side of the main road from Palmerston North to Ashhurst: thence towards the north-west by the north-western side of the said main road to the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 47, Block III., Gorge Survey District: thence again towards the south-west by the said Section No. 47 and its north-eastern boundary-line produced to the northern side of the Ashhurst-Bunnythorpe Road; thence by Section No. 45, Block III. aforesaid, to the road known as Kairanga No. 1 Line: thence again towards the north-west by the said Kairanga No. 1 Line to the Feilding-Ashhurst Road; thence by the southern side of the Feilding-Ashhurst Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 8, Block I., Gorge Survey District; thence by a right line to the southernmost corner of the said Section No. 8; and thence by that section to Section No. 9 aforesaid, the place of commencement.
