Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £96, authorised to be raised by the Drury Road Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the completion of the road-works executed with the loan of £955 previously raised, and being an additional 10 per cent. of that sum, the said Drury Road Board makes and levies a special rate of 1/10d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all the rateable property in the Drury Road District; and that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 15th day of January and the 15th day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

That the following resolution be adopted making a special order for the readjustment of all county loans under clause 60 and subsection (c) of clause 59 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” to take effect on the 1st day of August, 1903.—Carried.

Special Meeting, 18th April, 1903.

That this Council do now confirm the following special order: That for the purpose of the readjustment of the now-existing loans obtained under the provisions of the Government Loans to Local Bodies Acts, and specified in the Schedule hereto, the Horowhenua County Council do hereby order and authorise the said now-existing loans and the inscribed debt in respect of such loans to be readjusted under the provisions of clause 60 and subsection (c) of clause 59 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the unexpired period of forty-one years, such readjustment to take effect on the 1st day of August, 1903, the payments to be made by the Horowhenua County Council on such loans and inscribed debt to be at the rate of 3½ per cent. per annum, payable half-yearly during the unexpired period of forty-one years as from the 1st day of August aforesaid.—Carried.

MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.

The following is a copy of a special order passed by the Manawatu County Council at a special meeting held on the 18th March, 1903, and confirmed at a special meeting held on the 22nd April, 1903:—

“That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by ‘The Counties Act, 1886,’ the Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500 authorised to be raised by the Manawatu County Council, under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ for the construction of the Pukipuki Road — such loan to be at 3½ per cent. per annum for forty-one years — the said Manawatu County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 9/10d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all the rateable property of the Pukipuki Special-rating District, comprising Sections 8, 8a, 3a, 4, 4a, 2, 6, 7, 7a, 5, 5a, 5b, 5c, of the final subdivision of the Oroua Downs Estate, Blocks IX. and X., Te Kawau Survey District, in the Carnarvon Riding; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly in one sum at the County Offices, Sanson, on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
