THE following Notice to Mariners, received from His Excellency the Naval Commander-in-Chief, Australian Station, is published for general information.

“Royal Arthur,” at Sydney,
9th April, 1903.
INFORMATION, dated 2nd April, 1903, has been received from Captain J. Phillips, R.M.S. “Aorangi,” that on 21st March he verified the existence of the shoal marked E.D. (1899) in lat. 5° 37′ S., long. 174° 2′ W., on Admiralty Charts, Pacific Ocean, S.W. Sheet No. 780, and Ellice Islands to Phoenix Islands No. 1830. He reports that it is situated in lat. 5° 33′ 15″ S., long. 173° 49′ 45″ W. It appears to be a reef of a horse-shoe formation, extending about ½ to ¾ of a mile in a N.N.E. and a S.S.W. direction. It does not show above water.

Notifying Reserves in the Township of Tuatini.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the undermentioned lands, having been shown upon the deposited plan of the Native Township of Tuatini as reserves for the purposes specified at the end of each of the descriptions in the Schedule hereto, are vested in His Majesty in pursuance of subsection (2) of section 12 of “The Native Townships Act, 1895,” and will be dealt with as reserves under “The Public Reserves Act, 1881.”
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 23 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 2 and 3 of Block I., in the Tuatini Native Township, Tokomaru Survey District. Bounded towards the north and north-east by Potaē Street, towards the south-east by Tokomaru Street, towards the south-west by Toa Street, and towards the north-west by Section No. 1 of the said Block I.; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 36447, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue. For a police reserve.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 14 perches, more or less, being Section No. 1 of Block X., in the Tuatini Native Township, Tokomaru Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Rimuroa Street, towards the east by Moana Street, towards the south by Section No. 2 of said Block X., and towards the west by Tuatini Native Allotment of Block X. aforesaid; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 36447, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue. For a reserve for public buildings.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 38 perches, more or less, being Section No. 2 of Block X., in the Tuatini Native Township, Tokomaru Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Tuatini Native Allotment and Section No. 1 of Block X., Tuatini Native Township, towards the east by Moana Street, towards the south by Waiotu Road, and towards the west by Tuatini Native Allotment aforesaid; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 36447, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue. For a school-site.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Kidnapper Survey District for Road Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1894,” to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road in Waimarama No. 3 Block, Kidnapper Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a copy of the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post-office, Hastings, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 2 of “The Towns Main Streets Act, 1902,” I, Thomas Young Duncan, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of the main street in the Town of Muritai Extension No. 5, Wellington Land District, of a width of 66 ft., instead of 99 ft., as prescribed by section 17 of “The Land Act, 1892.”
