Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Waihi.

THE following special order, made by the Waihi Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WAHI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, and “The Local Bodies’ Goldfields Public Works and Loans Act, 1901,” the Waihi Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £15,000 authorised to be raised by the Waihi Borough Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, and “The Local Bodies’ Goldfields Public Works and Loans Act, 1901,” for construction of waterworks for the Borough of Waihi, the said Waihi Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property comprised within the boundaries of the Borough of Waihi; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 30th day of April and the 31st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution, operating as a special order, was passed at a special meeting of the Waihi Borough Council on Thursday, the 5th February, 1903, and confirmed at a meeting on Thursday, the 5th March, 1903.

THE following special order, made by the Mauku Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

MAUKU ROAD BOARD.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and its amendments, the Mauku Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £700 authorised to be raised by the Mauku Road Board under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for twenty-six years at 4½ per cent. interest, the said loan to be apportioned as under for the following purposes—viz., £500 for forming and metalling the unmetalled portions of the Pukekohe-Waiuku Road between the boundary of the Patumahoe Ward in front of Mr. Cotter’s property, being part Lot 20, Section 3, Parish of Puni, and the boundary of the West Mauku Ward in front of Mr. Nicholls’s property, being part Section 83, Parish of Waiuku East; £100 for cutting down, widening; and forming the road known as Piggott’s Hill, and for raising and metalling the road between the said hill and Mr. Wily’s gate, “the said hill and road being between Sections 97 and 98, Parish of Waiuku East; £50 for a new bridge (and approaches) to replace the bridge known as Wily’s Bridge, on the north-eastern boundary of Section 98, Parish of Waiuku East; £50 for cutting down, forming, and metalling the road between the northern corner of Section 83 and the southern corner of Section 93, both in the Parish of Waiuku East—the said Mauku Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅝d. in the pound upon the rateable valuations of all the rateable property of the West Mauku Ward of the Mauku Road District, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 69, of the 14th September, 1893: the said West Mauku Ward being bounded towards the north generally by the waters of the Taihiki River: towards the east generally by the said Taihiki River and the Mauku River; by the south-western boundary of the Allotment 24, Parish of Puni; thence by that boundary produced easterly to the middle of the road forming its eastern boundary; thence by a line along the middle of the said road to a point on the same being the termination of a right line produced in continuation of the south-western boundary of Lot 20 of the said parish; thence by the said right line, by part of the south-western boundary of the said Allotment 20 to the eastern corner of Allotment 22, and thence by a continuation of the said boundary in a straight line dividing Allotment 20 to the point of intersection with the north-western boundary of Allotment 27; again by the south-eastern boundary of Allotments 20 and 26 to a point 6850 links from the eastern corner of said Allotment 26; then by a straight line from the said point to a point on the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 28 5156 links from the eastern corner of Allotment 27; and thence by a straight line to a point on the boundary of the Pukekohe West Road District opposite the northern corner of Allotment 31; thence by the boundary of the Pukekohe West Road District to the northern corner of Allotment 33: towards the south generally by the said Pukekohe West Road District; and towards the west generally by the said Pukekohe West Road District and Waiuku Road District to the place of commencement: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable in one sum on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been made and confirmed by the Mauku Road Board in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

THE following special order, made by the Richmond Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900.”

BOROUGH OF RICHMOND.
Special Order.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and the amendment thereto, the Richmond Borough Council did, at a special meeting held at the borough office on the 10th day of March, 1903, resolve as follows: “That the number of Councillors of the Borough of Richmond be reduced from nine to six, exclusive of the Mayor.”
The above resolution was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held at the borough office on the 14th day of April, 1903.
In testimony whereof the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Richmond is hereunto affixed.
