Special Order made by the Council of the County of Taranaki.

THE following special order, made by the Taranaki County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

COUNTY OF TARANAKI.
Notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Council of the County of Taranaki held on Monday, the 2nd day of March, 1903, the following resolution by way of special order was passed:—
“That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ and ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1902,’ the Council of the County of Taranaki hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and sinking fund to secure the repayment of a loan or loans to be borrowed under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ and ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1902,’ for the purpose of providing funds for the reconstruction of bridges on roads under the jurisdiction of the Council of the County of Taranaki, the said Council of the County of Taranaki hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound (to be called a bridge rate) upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property comprised within the whole of the County of Taranaki; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan or loans, and be payable yearly on the 15th day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan or loans, or until such loan or loans are fully paid off.”
The foregoing resolution by way of special order was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the Council of the County of Taranaki held at the County Office, New Plymouth, this 6th day of April, 1903.

Special Order made by the Berwick Drainage Board.

THE following special order, made by the Berwick Drainage Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BERWICK DRAINAGE BOARD.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Land Drainage Act, 1893,” the Berwick Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a further loan of £50 to be raised by the Berwick Drainage Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for river-protective works, the said Berwick Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property in the Berwick Drainage District, comprising all that area in the Otago Land District situated in Blocks II. and VI., Maungatua Survey District, bounded towards the north-west by Section 44, Block II. aforesaid, from the Waipori River to the northernmost corner of Section 45; thence towards the north-east generally by Sections 2 of 11, 2 of 9, 1 of 9, a public road, and Section 10, Block II. aforesaid, by Sections 56, 55, and 54, Block VI. aforesaid, to the easternmost corner of Section No. 3; thence towards the south-east generally by the road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 8 and 9, Block VI. aforesaid, to the Waipori River; and thence towards the south-west generally by the Waipori River to the place of commencement: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, in addition to the special rate made and levied in respect of the original loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I Robert Robinson, jun., Chairman, Berwick Drainage Board, do hereby certify that the above resolution by way of special order was advertised in the Taieri Advocate of 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th March, and confirmed on 6th April, and advertised 8th April, 1903.

THE following special order, made by the Otekis Drainage Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

OTAKIA DRAINAGE BOARD.
I, JAMES T. GIBSON, Chairman, Otakia Drainage Board, do hereby certify that on 26th February, 1903, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in them in that behalf by “The Land Drainage Act, 1893,” the Otakia Drainage Board resolved as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £350, to be raised by the Otakia Drainage Board, under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ for making new drains, widening and deepening existing drains, making bridges, culverts, and flood-gates as required, the said Otakia Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 5½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Otakia Drainage District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The above resolution making special rate by way of special order was advertised in the Taieri Advocate of 28th February, 7th, 14th, and 21st March, and confirmed 4th April, and advertised 8th April, 1903.

Special Order made by the Council of the County of Cook.

THE following special order, made by the Cook County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.
A special order made by the Cook County Council on the 19th December, 1902, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 23rd February, 1903:—
“In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in them in that behalf by ‘The Counties Act, 1886,’ and ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ the Cook County Council do hereby resolve as follows: That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000 authorised to be raised by the Cook County Council, under the provisions of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ for constructing a dray-road from the end of the present road, and extending to the second crossing of the Wharekopae River, the said Cook County Council do hereby make and levy a special rate of 3d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property in the Wharekopae Loan District, comprising part Run 1, Block VI., Ngatapa Survey District; part Run 2, Block VII., Ngatapa Survey District; Section 2, Block IX., Ngatapa Survey District; Section 1, Block V., Ngatapa Survey District; Section 1, Block X., Ngatapa Survey District; part Wharekopae 1a, Subdivision 1, Blocks VII., XI., Ngatapa Survey District; Wharekopae 1b 2a, Blocks VII., XI., Ngatapa Survey District; part Wharekopae 1a, Blocks VIII., XI., Ngatapa Survey District; part Wharekopae 2a 2b, Block VIII., Ngatapa Survey District; part Okahuatia No. 1, 5,000 acres, Blocks VIII., XII., Ngatapa Survey District; Crown lands, Sections 1, 2, 3, and II. C2, Section 2, Tahoma, 7,000 acres: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off; the rate of interest to be 3½ per cent. per annum.”
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Cook was hereto affixed in the presence of—
