THE following special order, made by the Clutha County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

COUNTY OF CLUTHA.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and amendments thereof, the Clutha County Council hereby resolves as follows: That for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £500 authorised to be raised by the Clutha County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for forming and metalling roads within the Ahuriri Special-rating District, the said Clutha County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Ahuriri Special-rating District, as described “n the roll of the Ahuriri Special-rating District, and comprising the lands described within the undermentioned boundaries — commencing at a point which is the north-western corner of Section 12, Block III., Glenomaru Survey District, and bounded thence “n the west by the eastern side of the road to Owaka to its intersection with a road which is the western boundary “f Section 30, Block VII., Glenomaru District; thence by the eastern and north-eastern side of that road in a south-easterly direction, bounding Sections 30, 42, 41, 40, and 39, to a point due north of the north-western corner of Section 37, all in Block VII., Glenomaru Survey District; thence southerly across the road and by the western boundary of Section 37 to Block VI., Glenomaru; thence by the northern boundary of Block VI.; thence easterly to the eastern side of a road bounding Section 19, Block VI.; thence by that road in a south-easterly direction, bounding Sections 19, Block VI., and 13, 25, end intersecting Section 8, Block V., Glenomaru District, to the Pacific Ocean; thence by the Pacific Ocean easterly and north-easterly to a road bounding Sections 29, 28, 19, and 18, Block V., Glenomaru District; thence by the western boundary of the South Molyneux Survey District to the southern side of the Karoro Creek Road, bounding Sections 38 and 37, and intersecting Section 21 and Section 1, and bounding Sections 33 and 32, all in Block IV., Glenomaru District; thence by the southern side of a road intersecting Sections 27 and 2, and bounding Sections 63 end 60, on the north-west and north-east of these sections; thence by a road bounding Section 60 on the west, and intersecting Section 26 and part of Section 15, all in Block III., Glenomaru District, to the Main Ahuriri Flat Road; thence by the north-eastern side of the Main Ahuriri Flat Road south-easterly t” Section 13, Block III., Glenomaru District; thence across the road, and by part of the western boundary of Section 13 to the point of commencement—and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the resolution initiating the above special order was adopted at a special meeting of the Clutha County Council held on the 21st day of February, 1903, and duly confirmed at a special meeting held on the 3rd day of April, 1903.
