an abattoir for the Borough of Timaru pursuant to the provisions of ‘The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900.’ That, for the purpose of securing the repayment of such additional loan and the interest thereon, the Council appropriates and pledges the abattoir to be established out of loan moneys, the land on which the same is to be erected, the revenue to be derived therefrom, and a special annual-recurring rate of ⅜d. in the pound sterling to be levied upon the rateable value of the whole of the rateable property within the Borough of Timaru, as appearing in the valuation roll from time to time and for the time being in force, payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, and until the whole of the said loan, with interest, be fully paid off and discharged. That the said loan shall be for a period of forty-one years. That a special meeting of the Council be called for and held on the 12th day of January, 1903, at the Borough Council Chambers, Timaru, at 8.30 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of confirming the foregoing resolution”—(which said resolution was adopted by the Council at a special meeting thereof held on the 8th day of December, 1902) be now confirmed as a special order, and that the common seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.

KIWITEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL ORDER making Special Rate.—Loan of £300, being Additional Cost of Suspension Bridge over Rangitikei River.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in them in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” the Kiwitea County Council do hereby resolve as follows:—

That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £300 authorised to be raised by the Kiwitea County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of providing the additional cost of the construction of a light traffic suspension bridge over the Rangitikei River, on the Mangarere Road, the said Kiwitea County Council do hereby make and levy a special rate of ¼d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Mangarere Special-rating District—comprising Sections 3, Block X., Hautapu Survey District; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, Block XIV., Hautapu Survey District; 4A, Blocks X. and XIV., Hautapu Survey District; 6 and 10, Block XV., Hautapu Survey District—and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Made under the seal of the County of Kiwitea, this 21st day of February, 1903.

STRATFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Special Order.

THAT the Stratford Borough Council, in pursuance of the powers vested in them under “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” do by special order authorise the raising of a special loan of £5,000 for the purpose of providing for and carrying out the erection of public abattoirs and acquiring site for same; that such loan be obtained from the Treasury of New Zealand; and that the same shall be for a period of forty-one years, interest to be paid at the rate of 3½ per centum per annum, as per subsection (c) of section 59 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Stratford Borough Council held on 20th January, 1903, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on 24th February, 1903.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900,” the Stratford Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000 authorised to be raised by the Stratford Borough Council under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of providing for and carrying out the erection of public abattoirs and of acquiring site for same, the said Stratford Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property in the Borough of Stratford; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day in April and the 1st day in October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off, the rate of interest to be paid to be at the rate of 3½ per cent. per annum.

The above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Stratford Borough Council held on 20th January, 1903, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on 24th February, 1903.
