No person shall use or allow to be used any sledge for the carriage or transport of logs, timber, or other materials along or on any district road or district bridge, and no person shall permit, suffer, or allow any logs, timber, or other materials to be dragged on or along any district road.

No person shall take any engine, agricultural or other machine, or any load or materials of any kind weighing more than 2½ tons avoirdu pois on one pair of wheels across any district bridge without the written sanction of the Board first had and obtained.

No person shall drive or ride at other than a walking pace across or upon any district bridge which has a span of 20 ft. or upwards.

No person shall at other than a walking pace drive, lead, or take any horses, cattle, engine, agricultural or other machine or vehicle across or upon any district bridge which has a span of 20 ft. or upwards.

Each vehicle mentioned in the first column of the first schedule of these by-laws which shall be driven, taken, or used upon or over any district road or district bridge from the 21st day of May to the 21st day of October in each and every year, and having the number of wheels mentioned on the same line in the second column of the said Schedule, and carrying the maximum weight mentioned on the same line in the third column of the said Schedule, shall have the minimum width of tire mentioned on the same line in the fourth column of the said Schedule; and if the width of the tires of the wheels or any of them of such vehicle be less than is required by the said First Schedule, the owner and driver of such vehicle shall be deemed to have committed a breach of this by-law.

For the purposes of these by-laws the number or quantity mentioned in the second column of the Second Schedule to these by-laws of the articles mentioned on the same line in the first column of the Second Schedule will be deemed a weight of one ton.

Any person acting under the authority of the Board may at all times examine and measure the tires of the wheels of any vehicle, and may examine, weigh, and measure any vehicle, or the load thereon, which in his opinion infringes these by-laws, and no person shall obstruct or interfere with the person acting under such authority, or refuse to permit such examination and measurement.

Every person who shall commit a breach of or fail to comply with any of the provisions of these by-laws shall be guilty of an offence, and for such offence be liable to a penalty not exceeding the sum of £5.

THE following special order, made by the One-Tree Hill Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

ONE-TREE HILL ROAD BOARD.
By-laws of the body corporate under the name of “The Inhabitants of the One-Tree Hill Road District,” made and enacted by and under special order of the One-Tree Hill Road Board passed on the 16th day of December, 1902, and sealed with the seal of the said Board on the 22nd day of January, 1903, to come into force on being gazetted :—
The undermentioned by-laws shall be in force within and shall affect the whole of the One-Tree Hill Road District except where otherwise specially mentioned.
In pursuance of the powers vested in it by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and its amendments, “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and its amendments, “The Public Health Act, 1900,” and its amendments, and “The Dog Registration Act, 1880,” and its amendments, and by all or any other statutes it thereunto enabling, the Road Board of the One-Tree Hill Road District doth hereby ordain as follows :—

No person shall ride or lead any horse or other animal, or wheel any barrow or other vehicle, or ride any cycle or other vehicle, upon or along any footpath constructed for foot-passengers only.

No person shall drag or allow to be dragged on a road or street any timber or other heavy material not being wholly raised above the ground on wheels.

No person shall permit any cattle to be at large without proper guidance, or to wander or to be herded or grazed upon any road or street other than in the ordinary course of driving stock.

No person shall leave upon any street or road any plough, harrow, reaping, threshing, or other machine, or any vehicle with or without any horse or animal harnessed thereto.

No person shall spill or cast or allow any nightsoil or other offensive matter to be spilt or cast into or upon any road or street.

No person shall leave any timber, bricks, stone, building, or other material upon any road or street, or upon or over any channel or surface drain in any road or street, without the permission in writing of the Board having been first obtained.

No person shall permit any back-yard or premises in his or her occupation within the district to become a nuisance or injurious to health.

No person shall bury, or cause or suffer or allow to be buried, any nightsoil or dead animal in any yard, garden, or area paddock of less than one acre, or other place whatsoever in the district situated within the following prescribed area :
