WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section
of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the
Governor may from time to time, either by general or parti-
cular description, and whether the same has been surveyed
or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that
the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of
the purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the
lands in the Wellington Land District described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said
Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions
of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District,
containing by admeasurement 51 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 6, Block II., Tararua Survey District. Bounded
towards the north generally by Mangahao South Road ;
towards the north-east and south-west generally by road
reserve along Mangahao River ; and towards the north-west
by forest reserve : as the same is delineated on the plan
marked S.G. 41644, deposited in the Head Office, Depart-
ment of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington
Land District, and thereon coloured red. For growth and
preservation of timber.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 23 acres, more or less, being Section
No. 5, Block II., Tararua Survey District. Bounded
towards the north by the Mangahao South Road and the
Manawatu Road ; and towards the south-east and south-
west generally by road reserve along the Mangahao River ;
and towards the west by Section No. 11 : as the same is
delineated on the plan marked S.G. 41644, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Welling-
ton, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured
red. For growth and preservation of timber.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,

1436 links ; towards the south-east by a line bearing
S. 23° 47′ W., 7194 links ; thence towards the south-west by a
line at a right angle to the last-mentioned line, 1000 links ;
and towards the north-west by a line bearing N. 23° 47′ E.,
6163 links, to a point on the south-eastern boundary-line of
the said Section No. part 13, 213·5 links from the southern-
most corner of that section : be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less : as the same is delineated on the plan marked
S.G. 44157, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land
District, and thereon coloured red. For a rifle-range.

Amending the Description of a Reserve in the Wellington
Land District.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-ninth sec-
tion of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that
where there has been any error of description made in any
notification of any intended reserve, or where there appears
a great discrepancy in the area of any intended reserve
after the same shall have been surveyed, the Governor may
cancel any notification that may have been made in respect
of such reserve, and issue fresh notifications in respect
thereof, with amended particulars and descriptions : And
whereas an error was made in the area of Section No. 14,
Block II., Makuri Survey District, Wellington Land Dis-
trict, which was wrongly stated as twenty acres and two
perches in the Warrant of the nineteenth day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and two, and in the Proclamation of
the twenty-seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred
and two, and published in Gazettes Nos. 25, of the twenty-
seventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and two,
and 43, of the fifth day of June, one thousand nine hundred
and two, respectively, reserving the land for recreation and
preservation of scenery ; and it is expedient to cancel the
said notification and Proclamation in so far as they relate
to Section No. 14, Block II., Makuri Survey District, afore-
said :
Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
revoke the Warrant of the nineteenth day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and two, and the Proclamation of
the twenty-seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred
and two, in so far as they relate to Section No. 14, Block II.,
Makuri Survey District, and do declare that the land de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto shall be the land set apart as
a reserve for recreation and preservation of scenery intended
by the said notification and Proclamation.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 18 acres 1 rood 38 perches, more or less,
being Section No. 1A, Block II., Makuri Survey District.
Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 22 ; towards
the south by Makairo Road ; towards the south-west by
Section No. 19 ; and towards the north-west by Waitapu
Road : as the same is delineated on the plan marked
S.G. 48088, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land
District, and thereon coloured red. For recreation and
preservation of scenery.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-fourth day of November, one thousand
nine hundred and two.
