I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed in accordance with section 75 of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” at a special meeting of the Upper Wangaehu Road Board, held at Mangamahu on Saturday, 1st November, 1902.

THE following special order, made by the Manganui Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

MANGANUI ROAD BOARD.
Copy of Special Order for Kent Terrace Loan of £275.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Manganui Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £275, authorised to be raised by the Manganui Road Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of forming, grading, and metalling Kent Terrace (Township of Midhirst) from the Beaconsfield Road to the Mountain Road, to pay out of such loan the cost of raising it, the said Manganui Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all the rateable property in the Kent Terrace Special-rating District, comprising Block I., Midhirst East, Sections 1 to 24 both included; Block VI., Midhirst East, Sections 1 to 25 both included; and Subsections 1, 2, 3, 4 of Section 3, Block XIII., Huiroa Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and that it was proposed on Monday, 6th October, 1902, and confirmed on Monday, 10th November, 1902.

PARIHAKA ROAD BOARD.
Special Order.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Parihaka Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £800, authorised to be raised by the Parihaka Road Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for draining, forming, culverting, and metalling the Lower Waiteika Road from the Main South Road to the Railway Reserve, the said Parihaka Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅞d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Waiteika (No. 2) Special-rating District, comprising part Section 9 (bounded on the east by Section 10, on the north by the Waiteika River, on the west by Subsection 4, and on the south by the Waiteika Road), Sections 10, 11, 12, 15, Subsections 1, 2, and 4 of Section 35, Section 2, Subsections 1 and 2 of Section 1, Block XII.; Section 39, Block X. (said Section 39 to be rated on half its capital value); Subsection 8, Sections 29, 30, 31, Subsections 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block XIII. (said Subsection 4 to be rated on half its capital value), all of which lands are in the Opunake Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The interest payable on the said loan shall be at the rate of 3½ per cent. per annum.
I hereby certify that the above special order has been duly passed in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

RANGITAIKI DRAINAGE BOARD (RANGITAIKI SUBDIVISION).
Proposed Special Loan of £3,000.
The following is the result of the poll taken upon the 1st day of November, 1902, on the proposal to borrow, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the sum of £3,000 for the purpose of the construction of drains and of embankments within the said Rangitaiki Subdivision of the Rangitaiki Drainage District, and that a special rate of 1s. in the pound be levied on the rateable value of all the rateable property within the said subdivision, to secure and pay interest on, and to provide a fund for, the repayment of such loan:—
Number of valid votes recorded in favour of proposal, 14 against, none.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.
