IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the sixth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and three, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.

This village is situate on Patea River, about 15½ miles from Hawera via Tangahoe Valley Road. The site is on a terrace 120 ft. above the river, and most of the sections are sloping, with a little flat; Sections 3 to 6 are nearly all hillside, and all sections are covered with mixed forest.

Defining Timber-cutting Areas under “The Mining Act Amendment Act, 1900.”

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections nine and eleven of “The Mining Act Amendment Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand doth hereby define and specify the blocks of land in the Hauraki Mining District described in the First and Second Schedules hereto to be “Warden’s Timber Areas” and “Land Board Timber Areas” respectively, and doth hereby authorise and direct the Warden of the Hauraki Mining District to deal with and dispose of applications for timber-cutting rights within the aforesaid Land Board Timber Areas on behalf of the Land Board.

WARDEN’S TIMBER AREAS.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks VII. and VIII., Hastings Survey District, containing 791 acres, more or less: commencing at the south-eastern corner of Block VII. aforesaid: bounded towards the south by southern boundary of Block VII. aforesaid, 60 chains; towards the west by a right line due north, 86 chains; towards the north by a right line due east, 92 chains; towards the east by a right line due south to the southern boundary of Block VIII. aforesaid, 86 chains; towards the south by the southern boundary of Block VIII. aforesaid, 32 chains, to point of commencement.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in Block XI., Hastings Survey District, containing 428 acres, more or less, and being parts of Waipatukahu Reserve No. 5 and Ututuru No. 1 Block: commencing at a point on the eastern boundary of Ututuru No. 1 Block aforesaid, due east to Te Kaka Trig. Station: bounded towards the east by Crown lands along the eastern boundary of Ututuru No. 1 Block to its intersection with the southern boundary of Block XI., thence by the southern boundary of Block XI. to its intersection with the production of the eastern boundary of Section 28, Block XI.; towards the west by a right line, Sections 28 and 27 of Block XI., to a point due west to Te Kaka Trig. Station aforesaid; towards the north by parts of Waipatukahu Reserve No. 5 and Otuturu No. 1 Block aforesaid, due east, to point of commencement.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in Block XIV., Hastings Survey District, containing 428 acres, more or less: commencing at the intersection of the eastern boundary of Otuturu No. 1 Block and the northern boundary of Block XIV. aforesaid: bounded towards the north by a right line along the northern boundary of Block XIV. aforesaid, 44 chains; towards the east by a right line due south, 54 chains; towards the south by a right line due west to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Waiomo No. 3 Block, 80 chains; towards the west generally by Waiomo No. 3 Block and Ututuru No. 1 Block to the point of commencement.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated in Block IX., Ohinemuri Survey District, containing 350 acres, more or less: commencing at a point 75 chains due east of the northern angle of Komata South No.1 Block: bounded towards the west by a right line due north, 50 chains; towards the north by a right line due east, 70 chains; towards the east by a right line due south, 50 chains; and towards the south by a right line due west, 70 chains, to point of commencement.

All that parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, situated partly in Block II. and part in Block VI., Aroha Survey District, containing 661 acres, more or less: commencing at a point on the southern boundary of Block II. aforesaid, 90 chains from its south-west corner: bounded towards the west by a right line due north, 36 chains; towards the north by a right line due east, 58 chains; towards the east by a right line due south, 114 chains; towards the south by a right line due west, 58 chains; and again towards the west by a right line due north, 78 chains, to the point of commencement.
