A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, with the consent of the owners of the lands hereinafter mentioned, and with the consent of the Waimea County Council, being the local authority within whose district the said lands are situated, do by this notice hereby proclaim as taken for roads the lands in the Whangamoa Survey District hereinafter described, that is to say,—

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly; Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and two.

Defining the Middle Line of a Portion of the Greymouth-Hokitika-Ross Railway, from Hokitika to Ross—namely, the Hokitika Section.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Greymouth-Hokitika-Ross Railway from Hokitika to Ross (hereinafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorised by “The Railways Authorisation Act, 1901”: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain a portion of the same—namely, the Hokitika Section: Now, therefore, I, Uchter John Mark, Earl of Ranfurly, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Act, 1894,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at a point in the Hokitika Station-yard marked 24 miles 5 chains, the said point being a point on the Greymouth-Hokitika Railway as constructed: proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction for a distance of about 1 mile 15 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., railway land, Fitzherbert Street, and Gibson’s Quay, in the Borough of Hokitika; Sections Nos. 1486, 1653, 1265, 1652, 1264, 1744, and railway reserve, all in Block IV., Mahinapua Survey District; including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, streets, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Westland: as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 20059, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
